16. CFD Modeling of Combustion in Flexi-Fuel Burners at Gas Turbine Conditions
Sammanfattning : The main source of energy in the nearest future will come from fossil fuels. Increasing demands on environmentally friendly energy conversion implies that pollutants, such as CO and NOx, need to be reduced. LÄS MER
17. CFD Modeling of an Alcohol-Diesel Direct-Injection Dual-Liquid-Fuel Engine using OpenFOAM
Sammanfattning : Legislation for heavy duty combustion engines are becoming more stringent. To keep up with the legislation, new engine technology is required. Furthermore, renewable fuels can also be used together with new engine technology to further reduce emissions. LÄS MER
18. Validation and Application of CFD to Safety-Related Phenomena in Lead-Cooled Fast Reactors
Sammanfattning : Carbon-free nuclear power production can help to relieve the increasing energy demand in the world. New generation reactors with improved safety, sustainability, reliability, economy and security are being developed. Lead-cooled fast reactor (LFR) is one of them. LÄS MER
19. Fluid Dynamics and Granular Growth in High Shear Wet Granulation
Sammanfattning : High shear wet granulation is a key step in the manufacturing of tablets in the pharmaceutical industry. From the pharmaceutical industry’s point of view, there is a desire for predictive quantitative process models to be able to make in-silico process and scale-up simulations, which would shorten and reduce the cost of technology transfer from laboratory scale to manufacturing scale in drug development. 20. ANALYZING THE HYDRO DYNAMICS AND THE CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN PULP DIGESTER SYSTEMS USING CFD MODELLING
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to use differential analysis and finite volume method (FVM) to model and analyze a continuous pulp digester in order to create a detailed picture of the flow behaviour and chemical reactions in the digester. This information will be used to optimize wood chip flow and reactions and to diagnose and avoid faults such as hang-ups and channelling. LÄS MER
