1. Bioinformatics, evolution and revolution in our understanding of toxin-antitoxin systems
Sammanfattning : Bacteria experience a wide range of natural challenges during their life cycles, to which they must respond and adapt to live. Under stressed conditions such as amino acid starvation, bacteria slow down their growth mechanism by producing small alarmone nucleotides guanosine pentaphosphate (pppGpp) and tetraphosphate (ppGpp), collectively referred to as (p)ppGpp. LÄS MER
2. Health of refugee migrants in the early post-migration phase in Sweden : The role of health resources and health promotion
Sammanfattning : In the early post-migration phase, the health and well-being of newly settled refugee migrants is negatively affected by structural factors such as restrictive immigration policies, hostile political discourse and limited housing and work opportunities. There is a need for a better understanding of how individual health resources and health promotion can mitigate the impact of these ongoing stressors. LÄS MER
3. TRAF6 stimulates TGFβ-induced oncogenic signal transduction in cancer cells
Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in men worldwide, with 10,000 new cases/year diagnosed in Sweden. In this context, there is an urgent need to identify new biomarkers to detect prostate cancer at an initial stage for earlier treatment intervention. LÄS MER
4. Connecting viral oncoproteins to microRNA, autophagy and metabolism in Merkel cell carcinoma
Sammanfattning : Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive type of skin cancer. Around 80% of MCCs harbor an integrated Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) genome with a mutation in the large T antigen (LT) gene, leading to expression of truncated LT. It is evident that the viral truncated LT and small T antigen (sT) play important roles in MCC tumorigenesis. LÄS MER
5. Globalisation and Competitive Sustenance of Born Global : Evidence from Indian knowledge-intensive service industry
Sammanfattning : The survival and sustained competitiveness of born global firms constitute a complex and dynamic process that evolves under conditions of disruptive change and pervasive uncertainty. To date, whereas much of the research in the area has focused on the early and rapid internationalisation stages of the development of born global firms, it is not clear how these firms manage to survive the challenges of the early internationalisation stage and gain a sustainable competitive position in the global economy.
