  1. 1. Molecular and clinical studies of cartilage and bone macromolecules in arthritis

    Författare :Bengt Månsson; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Skeleton; Prognosis; Tissue damage; Bone markers; Cartilage markers; Rheumatoid arthritis; Psoriatic arthritis; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : The pathogenesis of inflammatory arthritides include synovial inflammation and joint tissue destruction. Tissue destruction has traditionally been regarded a consequence of inflammation, but recent observations indicate that the processes are not always closely linked and may proceed uncoupled. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vetenskap, evighet och religion; en studie i Anders Nygrens religionsfilosofi

    Författare :Bengt-Åke Månsson; Centrum för teologi och religionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; science; Anders Nygren; non-science; validity; category; eternity; context of meaning; message; argumentation; Teologi; Theology;

    Sammanfattning : Anders Nygrens ambition was to develop a criterion by which he could distinguish between science and non-science. This is th K(v) of Nygren. According to Nygreb tgere are three ways of arguing in science which all fullfill the demand of K(v): a) deductive argumentation b) empirical argumentation and c) philosophical argumentation. 3. 3. Energy Efficient Textile Drying

    Författare :Lena Brunzell; Bengt Månsson; Roger Renström; Jonas Berghel; Odilio Alves-Filho; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tumble dryer; drying; textile; energy and mass balance; control strategy; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Traditionally, textiles were dried outdoors with the wind and the sun enhancing the drying process. Tumble dryers offer a fast and convenient way of drying textiles independent of weather conditions. Tumble dryers, however, consume large amounts of electrical energy. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Emissions of volatile organic compounds from wood

    Författare :Karin Granström; Bengt Månsson; Ann-Margret Strömvall; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VOC; terpenes; drying; wood; emissions; spouted bed; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : The central aim of this thesis is to support the efforts to counteract certain environmental problems caused by emissions of volatile organic compounds. The purpose of this work was (1) to develop a method to establish the amount of emitted substances from dryers, (2) to determine the effect of drying medium temperature and end moisture content of the processed material on emissions of monoterpenes and other hydrocarbons, (3) to examine the emissions of monoterpenes during production of pellets, and (4) to examine the natural emissions from forests with an eye to implications for modelling. 5. 5. Sludge from pulp and paper mills for biogas production : Strategies to improve energy performance in wastewater treatment and sludge management

    Författare :Alina Hagelqvist; Thomas Nilsson; Karin M. Granström; Bengt Månsson; Bo Mattiasson; Thomas Welander; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anaerobic digestion; pulp and paper mill sludge; methane production; energy efficient sludge management; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : The production of pulp and paper is associated with the generation of large quantities of wastewater that has to be purified to avoid severe pollution of the environment. Wastewater purification in pulp and paper mills combines sedimentation, biological treatment, chemical precipitation, flotation and anaerobic treatment, and the specific combination of techniques is determined by the local conditions.
