  1. 1. Beyond the Force: Redefining load exposure assessments of nutrunners for improved power tool ergonomics

    Författare :Ava Mazaheri; Linda Rose; Mikael Forsman; Romain Haettel; Joel Cort; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power Tools; Nutrunners; Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders; Risk Assessment; Load Exposure; Assembly Work; Monteringsverktyg; Mutterdragare; Arbetsrelaterade Muskuloskeletala Besvär; Riskbedömning; Belastningsexponering; Monteringsarbete; Teknik och hälsa; Technology and Health;

    Sammanfattning : Reaction force exposure from handheld tightening tools (also known as nutrunners) constitutes an acknowledged contributor to musculoskeletal disorders among assembly operators, and are today not regulated by explicit limits. The research presented in this thesis aimed at contributing to the development of recommended exposure limits for, and assessments of, reaction loads from handheld right-angle and pistol-grip tightening tools. 3. 3. Occupational health risks in dentistry - musculoskeletal disorders and neuropathy in relation to exposure to physical workload, vibrations and mercury

    Författare :Ingrid Åkesson; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prospective follow-up study .; cross-sectional; inclinometer; electrogoniometer; EMG; physical exposure; tactilometry; physical examination; diagnoses; neck upper limb; sensorineural; Key words: Dentistry; musculoskeletal; Occupational health; industrial medicine; Yrkesmedicin; arbetsmiljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis was to focus on the occupational health risks in dentistry with emphasis on musculoskeletal disorders in the neck and upper limbs and neuropathy in the hands, in relation to exposure to physical workload, vibration and mercury. An increased high frequency of long-lasting and wide-spread musculoskeletal symptoms in the neck and shoulder regions (58-75% during the past 12 months) was found in dentists and dental hygienists compared to different referent groups; furthermore, wrist/hand (46-59%) and hip (19-27%) disorders as well in female dentists and dental hygienists.
