    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; imaging techniques; force; electromyography; video recording; electrogoniometer; inclinometer; movement; posture; physical exposure; industrial work; repetitive; upper extremity; neck; observation method; musculoskeletal; Yrkesmedicin; arbetsmiljömedicin; industrial medicine; Occupational health; epidemiology; ultrasound; magnetic resonance;

    Sammanfattning : Observation methods and imaging techniques - assessments of physical exposure in repetitive work with focus on neck and upper extremities The aim of this thesis was to develop, establish and validate observation methods for exposure assessments in epidemiological studies of repetitive work. A second aim was to increase the quality of input data for biomechanical shoulder models, by reliability and validity studies of Magnetic Reso-nance Imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound Scanning (US). 2. 2. Occupational health risks in dentistry - musculoskeletal disorders and neuropathy in relation to exposure to physical workload, vibrations and mercury

    Författare :Ingrid Åkesson; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prospective follow-up study .; cross-sectional; inclinometer; electrogoniometer; EMG; physical exposure; tactilometry; physical examination; diagnoses; neck upper limb; sensorineural; Key words: Dentistry; musculoskeletal; Occupational health; industrial medicine; Yrkesmedicin; arbetsmiljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis was to focus on the occupational health risks in dentistry with emphasis on musculoskeletal disorders in the neck and upper limbs and neuropathy in the hands, in relation to exposure to physical workload, vibration and mercury. An increased high frequency of long-lasting and wide-spread musculoskeletal symptoms in the neck and shoulder regions (58-75% during the past 12 months) was found in dentists and dental hygienists compared to different referent groups; furthermore, wrist/hand (46-59%) and hip (19-27%) disorders as well in female dentists and dental hygienists. 3. 3. Sagittal plane knee translation in healthy and ACL deficient subjects : a methodological study in vivo with clinical implications

    Författare :Anil Vergis; Jon Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :anterior cruciate ligament; electrogoniometer system; gait; knee; kinematics; motion analysis; step ascent; step descent; translation; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : This study on human subjects, comprises of four cross sectional and one prospective cohort study. The general purpose of this work was to develop a technique for measuring in vivo, sagittal anterior-posterior translatory motions in the knee joint using a computerized electrogoniometer (CA-4000, OS Inc., Hayward CA, USA). 5. 5. Velocity controlled dynamometry and gait analysis : development of methods and applications

    Författare :Lennart Gransberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Dynamometry; torque; measurement error; overshoot; isokinetic; concentric; eccentric; gait analysis; three-dimensional; electrogoniometer; electromagnetic tracking;

    Sammanfattning : The isokinetic systems developed in the present study can measure torque in maximal voluntary and passive movements. The torque recordings may be combined with surface EMG recordings from pairs of antagonistic muscles involved in the movement. Healthy subjects and patients with spastic paresis have been examined.
