  1. 26. Mechanisms influencing natural killer cell recognition of tumour cells

    Författare :Monika Enqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Natural killer (NK) cells are part of our innate immune defence against virus-infected and transformed cells. Through a yet undefined mechanism, expression of inhibitory receptors for self-HLA class I molecules endow NK cells with increased functionality. The process leading to gain of function through inhibition is known as NK cell education. LÄS MER

  2. 27. CD93 in regulation of vascular function and tumour progression

    Författare :Kalyani Vemuri; Anna Dimberg; Pipsa Saharinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CD93; Tumour angiogenesis; Vascular permeability; Endothelial junctions; Cancer; Glioblastoma; Metastasis;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve successful vascular targeting in cancer, a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that lead to tumour vascular abnormalities is required.  The transmembrane protein CD93 is highly expressed in the vasculature of several tumours including glioblastoma and has emerged as a potential anti-angiogenic target. 3. 28. Functional Characterization of the Yeast Tumour Suppressor Homologue Sro7p

    Författare :Annabelle Forsmark; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Yeast; protein sorting; protein secretion; L 2 GL; tumour suppressor; SRO7; SRO77; ENA1; exocytosis; post-Golgi vesicles; ART5; E3 adaptor; ubiquitylation; ATLGL1; ATLGL2;

    Sammanfattning : Correct targeting of newly synthesized proteins to appropriate domains of the cell membrane is crucial to cellular architecture, polarity and function, making it no surprise that many proteins of the secretory machinery are conserved throughout evolution. This work presents a functional characterisation of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell polarity protein and tumour suppressor homologue, Sro7p. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Mitotic aberrations in mammalian cells

    Författare :Anna Renglin Lindh; Thomas Helleday; Micheline Kirsch-Volders; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aneuploidy; mitotic aberrations; chemical effects; human cancer; DNA repair; Genetics; Genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Almost all cancer cells are aneuploid showing the wrong chromosome number and often with structural aberrations. The degree of aneuploidy correlates with an increase of the severity of the disease and tumour cells with chromosomal instability are more prone to acquire resistance to chemotherapy than other cells. 5. 30. The immune microenvironment of colorectal cancer - Relationship with survival, sidedness, and pre-diagnostic anthropometry

    Författare :Jonna Berntsson; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Colorectal Cancer; T cells; B cells; PD-1; PD-L1; immune system; prognosis; anthropometry; obesity;

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide. Increasing evidence suggests that CRC should be considered a heterogeneous disease, with multiple differences between proximal and distal tumours. LÄS MER
