  1. 6. Estimation Problems in Array Signal Processing, System Identification, and Radar Imagery

    Författare :Richard Abrahamsson; Peter Stoica; A. Lee Swindlehurst; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Parameter Estimation; Array Signal Processing; STAP; SAR; Ground Penetrating Radar; System Identification; Bilinear Models; Covariance Matrix Estimation; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with parameter estimation, signal processing, and applications. In the first part, imaging using radar is considered. More specifically, two methods are presented for estimation and removal of ground-surface reflections in ground penetrating radar which otherwise hinder reliable detection of shallowly buried landmines. 2. 7. Estimation and optimal input design in sparse models

    Författare :Javad Parsa; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Kim Batselier; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Sparse estimation; Input design; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Sparse parameter estimation is an important aspect of system identification, as it allows for reducing the order of a model, and also some models in system identification inherently exhibit sparsity in their parameters. The accuracy of the estimated sparse model depends directly on the performance of the sparse estimation methods. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Continuous-time System Identification : Refined Instrumental Variables and Sampling Assumptions

    Författare :Rodrigo A. González; Cristian R. Rojas; Marion Gilson-Bagrel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Continuous-time systems; Refined instrumental variables; band-limited signals; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Continuous-time system identification deals with the problem of building continuous-time models of dynamical systems from sampled input and output data. There are two main approaches in this field: indirect and direct. In the indirect approach, a suitable discrete-time model is first determined, and then it is transformed into continuous-time. 4. 9. Multidimensional inverse problems in imaging and identification using low-complexity models, optimal mass transport, and machine learning

    Författare :Axel Ringh; Johan Karlsson; Rodolphe Sepulchre; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inverse problems; convex optimization; variational regularization; trigonometric moment problems; optimal mass transport; computed tomography; machine learning; analytic interpolation; delay systems; Inversa problem; konvex optimering; variationell regularisering; trigonometriska momentproblem; optimal masstransport; datortomografi; maskininlärning; analytisk interpolation; system med tidsfördröjning; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis, which mainly consists of six appended papers, primarily considers a number of inverse problems in imaging and system identification.In particular, the first two papers generalize results for the rational covariance extension problem from one to higher dimensions.
