  1. 26. Policy Integration for Sustainable Transport Development : Case Studies of Two Swedish Regions

    Författare :Linnea Eriksson; Jenny Palm; Lisa Hansson; Dick Magnusson; Magdalena Fallde; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Policy integration; sustainable transport; region; policy; planning; public administration; institutional logics; organizational identity; boundary object; Sweden; Policy integration; samverkan; hållbara transporter; regional nivå; policy; planering; offentlig förvaltning; institutionella logiker; organisationsidentiteter; gränsobjekt;

    Sammanfattning : It has been argued that for the management of complex issues such as sustainability, which transcend traditional policy sectors and require coordination between several different interests and actors, policymaking depends upon collaboration and integration processes between different sectors and tiers of government. The overall aim of this thesis is therefore to study how and why (or why not) policy integration processes are being developed in regional policymaking and what this means for the achievement of sustainable transport. 2. 27. Maximizing the integration of wind power in distribution system

    Författare :Shemsedin Nursebo; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; distribution system; integration issues of wind power; cost benefit analysis.; frequency of tap change; active management strategies;

    Sammanfattning : The global installed capacity of wind power has shown a significant growth, from just 24 GW in 2001 to 283 GW in 2012. This trend is expected to continue for some years to come. Hence a significant amount of wind power needs to be connected to the electric power system. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Biomass conversion through syngas-based biorefineries : thermochemical process integration opportunities

    Författare :Katarina Åberg; Anders Nordin; Linda Pommer; Erik Dahlquist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomass; biorefinery; thermochemical conversion; torrefaction; slow pyrolysis; gasification; process integration; carbon negativity;

    Sammanfattning : The replacement of fossil resources through renewable alternatives is one way to mitigate global climate change. Biomass is the only renewable source of carbon available for replacing oil as a refining feedstock. Therefore, it needs to be utilized not just as a fuel but for both biochemical and thermochemical conversion through biorefining. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Air transport liberalisation in the European community 1987-1992 : A case of integration

    Författare :Robin Travis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Political science; European Union; air transport; aviation; liberalisation; integration theory; game theory; neo-functionalism; intergovernmentalism; Statsvetenskap; Political science; Statsvetenskap; statskunskap; Political Science;

    Sammanfattning : Commercial aviation in the European Community was regulated by a system based on bilateral negotiations until the late 1980s. Regulation ensured that airlines did not compete. The lack of competition conflicted with the aim of the Treaty of Rome of having a common economic market. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Power System Operation Planning and Wind Power Curtailment : Efficient Methods for Power System Scheduling and Integration Studies of Variable Renewable Energy

    Författare :Elis Nycander; Lennart Söder; Mehrdad Ghandari; Robert Eriksson; Germán Morales-España; Benjamin Hobbs; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Variable renewable energy; wind power integration; production cost model; power-based unit commitment; wind power scenarios; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : To reduce carbon dioxide emissions, variable renewable energy (VRE) sources are replacing conventional fossil-based power plants for electricity generation. Due to the variability and uncertainty of weather dependent VRE sources, there can be situations when it is not possible to accommodate all the available VRE production, and VRE sources have to be curtailed.
