  1. 31. Miniaturized, Membrane-Based and Environmentally Green Sample Preparation Systems: Applications for Biological and Environmental Aqueous Samples

    Författare :Thaer Barri; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Free concentration; Exhustive extraction; Microporous membrane liquid-liqid extraction; Miniaturization; Supported liquid membrane extraction; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Contemporary advancements in miniaturization of analytical systems have advantageously fostered development, automation, and hyphenation of a variety of sample preparation techniques. Among several downscaled extraction designs, porous synthetic polymeric membranes (such as flat sheet (FS) or hollow fiber (HF)) have been utilized for membrane-based extraction, separating two aqueous phases (as in supported liquid membrane (SLM) extraction or one aqueous phase and another organic phase (as in microporous membrane liquid-liquid extraction (MMLLE)). 2. 32. Advances in Stellar Astrophysics from Laboratory Spectroscopy

    Författare :Stefan Ivarsson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; iridium; osmium; uranium; oscillator strengths; Spectroscopy; term analysis; line profiles; line structure; astrophysics; Sun; Chi Lupi; 17 Comae A; chemically peculiar; praseodymium; stars; space research; cosmic chemistry; Astronomi; rymdvetenskap; kosmisk kemi; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Ivarsson;

    Sammanfattning : Investigation of astrophysical plasmas, such as stellar atmospheres, require both knowledge of atomic structure and data. We present laboratory instruments, techniques and tools for acquisition of the data required to derive important atomic parameters such as, wavelengths, oscillator strengths and line profiles. 3. 33. Improved data analysis methods for the millimetre-wave observation of strato-mesospheric ozone and winds over Northern Sweden

    Författare :Rita Edit Kajtar; Mathias Milz; Uwe Raffalski; Victoria Barabash; Eliane Maillard Baras; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atmospheric science; Atmosfärsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses and discusses the work done to improve an ozone retrieval method. The newly implemented method aims to invert emission spectra measured with the millimetre-wave radiometers KIMRA and MIRA2 at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Extinction in Molecular Clouds : Case of Barnard 335

    Författare :Sven Olofsson; Göran Olofsson; Kalevi Mattila; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ISM; interstellar medium; extinction; molecular cloud; Astronomy; astronomi; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : The Bok globule B335 is a small molecular cloud in the solar neighbourhood near the galactic plane. The aim for this three-paper-study is to construct and analyze the extinction for this globule. The method we apply is to use the light from field stars behind the cloud in broadband filters ranging from UV to the mid-infrared. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Surface and Bulk Reactivity of Iron Oxyhydroxides : A Molecular Perspective

    Författare :Xiaowei Song; Jean-François Boily; Glenn Waychunas; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Iron oxyhydroxide; adsorption; water; carbon dioxide; FTIR; molecular resolution;

    Sammanfattning : Iron oxyhydroxide (FeOOH) mineral plays an important role in a variety of atmospheric, terrestrial and technological settings. Molecular resolution of reactions involving these minerals is thereby required to develop a fundamental understanding of their contributions in processes taking place in the atmosphere, Earth’s upper crust as well as the hydrosphere.
