6. Steel as the Answer? : Viking Bodies, Power, and Masculinity in Anglophone Fantasy Literature 2006–2016
Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the motif of the popular Viking in contemporary Anglophone fantasy literature, with a focus on masculinity, power, embodiment, and sexuality. The study draws on queer-theoretical perspectives on masculinity and the method of queer reading, and approaches the Viking as at once bound up with the legitimization of normative and hegemonic forms of masculinity and open to (queer) negotiations and possibilities beyond normative male masculinities. 7. Process integration in the steel industry : possibilities to analyse energy use and environmental impacts for an integrated steel mill
Sammanfattning : There is a growing awareness of serious problems associated with the use of energy. These problems include local and global environmental degradation associated with energy use and depletion of resources. LÄS MER
8. The low-carbon steel industry - Interactions between the hydrogen direct reduction of steel and the electricity system
Sammanfattning : The European steel industry must achieve deep reductions in CO2 emissions to meet the targets set out in the Paris Agreement. Options for reducing CO2 emissions include electrification, carbon capture and storage (CCS) and the use of biomass. LÄS MER
9. An Experimental Study of Liquid Steel Sampling
Sammanfattning : Sampling of liquid steel to control the steel making process is very important in the steel industry. However, there are numerous types of disposable samplers and no united standard for sampling. The goal in this study is to investigate the effect of slag protection type and sample geometry on sampling parameters and sample homogeneity. LÄS MER
10. Steel converter slag as an oxygen carrier
Sammanfattning : Thermal conversion of fuels can be used to produce heat and power in addition to chemicals. In order to be aligned with climate targets, it is necessary that such systems do not emit carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) can be used together with fuel conversion systems to prevent CO2 from entering the atmosphere. LÄS MER
