1. Shoulder-neck exposure from assembly work and the significance of rationalization
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis was to investigate the implications of different rationalization levels of assembly work on shoulder-neck exposure. Three levels were studied: (1) a Chinese Tayloristic system, (2) a Swedish Tayloristic system, and (3) an assembly workplace rationalization in Sweden according to 'modern' rationalization principles including ergonomic purposes. 2. Early Prevention of Non-specific Neck, Shoulder and Back Disorders in Home-care Personnel. Assessments, Predictors of Sick Leave and Intervention
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to gain further knowledge of the assessments, predictors of future sick leave and intervention with regard to early prevention of neck, shoulder and back disorders in nursing aides/assistant nurses working in the home-care service. In Paper I, 15 clinical tests on impairment level related to the low back, were examined for intra- and inter-rater reliability on 18 and 44 subjects, respectively (Step 1). LÄS MER
3. Thermoelectric Measurements for Temperature Control of Robotic Friction Stir Welding
Sammanfattning : Friction stir welding (FSW) has undergone a rapid expansion in several industrial sectors such as in the aerospace, marine, railway and automotive sectors. Current industrial applications are mainly simple long straight welds, but there is a growth of interest in components with higher geometric complexity. LÄS MER
4. Friction Stir Welding of Copper Canisters Using Power and Temperature Control
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the development to reliably seal 50 mm thick copper canisters containing the Swedish nuclear waste using friction stir welding. To avoid defects and welding tool fractures, it is important to control the tool temperature within a process window of approximately 790 to 910°C. LÄS MER
5. Fractures of the Distal Radius - Incidence, treatment and outcome
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Fractures of the distal radius are common injuries that may cause persistent disability and pain. This thesis prospectively investigates the incidence and characteristics of distal radius fractures, the relationship between fracture malunion and disability and the natural course of patient-reported outcome after fracture in a well-defined population in Northeastern Scania, Sweden.
