   Sammanfattning : Modern ski-treadmills allow cross-country skiers, biathletes and ski-orienteers to test their physical performance in a laboratory environment using classical and freestyle techniques on roller skis. For elite athletes the differences in performance between test occasions are quite small, thus emphasising the importance of knowing the roller skis’ rolling resistance coefficient, µR, in order to allow correct comparisons between the results, as well as providing the opportunity to study work economy between different athletes, test occasions and core techniques.    Sammanfattning : This thesis took its point of departure in the lack of research regarding the intricate and important relationship between roles and routines. With roles and routines providing individuals with enough discretion to accomplish work while ensuring consistency, the overall research question posed was: how do roles and routines interplay to enable flexible performances? This question was operationalized through three sub questions: (1) why are roles and routines flexible, (2) how do roles and routines interplay, and (3) what contextual aspects influence which patterns come into play?    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses how societal adaptation processes in public and private sectors at the regional to local level in Sweden are enacted. The thesis pays particular attention to critical factors that constrain or enable adaptation by focussing on: who are the stakeholders, how do different stakeholders perceive their capacity to adapt, and the role of stakeholder interaction in facilitating adaptation processes A combination of two analytical perspectives is used where one is based on key concepts within adaptation literature, and the other draws on boundary crossing and transdisciplinary knowledge production (stakeholders, adaptive capacity, and science-based stakeholder dialogues).
