  1. 1. Early Rostrocaudal Patterning of the CNS

    Författare :Ulrika Nordström; Thomas Edlund; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CNS development; neural patterning; neural specification; Wnt; FGF; RA; Isthmic organizer; motor neurons; rostrocaudal patterning.; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The transformation of an initially uniform population of epiblast cells into an intricately complex central nervous system (CNS) is one of the most fascinating processes during embryonic development. Presumptive neural cells are initially specified as cells of forebrain character. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The interplay of roles and routines : situating, patterning, and performances in the emergency department

    Författare :Virginia Rosales; Mattias Jacobsson; Anette Hallin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Roles; routines; scripted; unscripted; patterns; situating; performing; patterning; emergency department; organizational ethnography;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis took its point of departure in the lack of research regarding the intricate and important relationship between roles and routines. With roles and routines providing individuals with enough discretion to accomplish work while ensuring consistency, the overall research question posed was: how do roles and routines interplay to enable flexible performances? This question was operationalized through three sub questions: (1) why are roles and routines flexible, (2) how do roles and routines interplay, and (3) what contextual aspects influence which patterns come into play? The purpose was to increase the understanding of the interplay of roles and routines in organizations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Surface Energy Patterning and Optoelectronic Devices Based on Conjugated Polymers

    Författare :Xiangjun Wang; Olle Inganäs; Henning Sirringhaus; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface energy modification; Patterning; Dewetting; Conjugated polymer; plastic solar cell; Low bandgap; Electron acceptors and donors; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns surface energy modification and patterning of the surfaces of conjugated polymers. Goniometry and Wilhelmy Balance techniques were used to evaluate the surface energy or wettability of a polymer’s surface; infrared reflectionabsorption spectroscopy (IRAS) was used to analyse the residuals on the surface as modified by a bare elastomeric stamp poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). 4. 4. Biosensor surface chemistry for oriented protein immobilization and biochip patterning

    Författare :Emma Ericsson; Karin Enander; Sofia Svedhem; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biochip; biosensor; hydrogel; ligand; orientation; patterning; photochemistry; protein immobilization; surface chemistry; self-assembled monolayer; SAM;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is focused on two methods for protein immobilization to biosensor surfaces for future applications in protein microarray formats. The common denominator is a surface chemistry based on a gold substrate with a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of functionalized alkanethiolates. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Electrochromism and over-oxidation in conjugated polymers: Improved color switching and a novel patterning approach

    Författare :Payman Tehrani; Magnus Berggren; Nathaniel D Robinson; Ludvig Edman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Conjugated polymers; Over-oxidation; Patterning; Electrochromism; PEDOT:PSS; Material physics with surface physics; Materialfysik med ytfysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the last 30 years a new research and technology field of organic electronic materials has grown thanks to a groundbreaking discovery made during the late 70’s. This new field is today a worldwide research effort focusing on exploring this new class of materials that also enable many new areas of electronics applications. LÄS MER
