  1. 1. Large-scale Runoff Generation and Routing : Efficient Parameterisation using High-resolution Topography and Hydrography

    Författare :Lebing Gong; Sven Halldin; C.-Y. Xu; Allan Rodhe; Thorsten Wagener; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Parameterisation; runoff generation; routing; WASMOD-M; hydrography; data uncertainty; topographic index; scale; river network; response function; HydroSHEDS; HYDRO1k; Dongjiang basin; Parametrisering; avrinningsbildning; flödessvarstid; WASMOD-M; hydrografi; topografiskt index; dataosäkerhet; skala; flödesnät; svarstidssfunktion; HYDRO1k; HydroSHEDS; Dongjiang; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Water has always had a controlling influence on the earth’s evolution. Understanding and modelling the large-scale hydrological cycle is important for climate prediction and water-resources studies. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Obsessive-compulsive disorder, serotonin and oxytocin : treatment response and side effects

    Författare :Mats B. Humble; Ingemar Engström; Lars von Knorring; Lars Kjellin; Lil Träskman-Bendz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adverse effects; Obsessive-compulsive disorder; Orgasm; Oxytocin; Randomised controlled trial; Rating scale; Response prediction; Serotonin; Serotonin uptake inhibitors; Sexual function; Psychiatry; Psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), with a prevalence of 1-2 %, frequently leads a chronic course. Persons with OCD are often reluctant to seek help and, if they do, their OCD is often missed. This is unfortunate, since active treatment may substantially improve social function and quality of life. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Pharmacometric Investigations of Prediction Precision and Advances of Models for Composite Scale Data

    Författare :Gustaf Wellhagen; Maria C. Kjellsson; Bengt Hamrén; Per Olsson Gisleskog; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometrics; modelling; non-linear mixed effects modelling; composite scale data; total score data; total score analysis; precision prediction; bounded integer; bounded integer model; IRT-informed total score analysis; item response theory-informed; mixed models for repeated measures; MMRM; dose-response; dose-response mixed models for repeated measures; DR-MMRM; HbA1c models; fit-for-purpose analysis; clinical trial analysis; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Clinical trials are needed to evaluate new treatments. In late-stage clinical trials, failures are mostly due to lack of efficacy. Fit-for-purpose analysis methods will likely increase the success rates and advance drug development by providing higher precision to support decisions such as go/no-go, dose selection, or sample size. 4. 4. Quantitative analysis of tumor growth and response to therapy

    Författare :Esmaeil Mehrara; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; tumor; growth; response; therapy; modeling; clinical;

    Sammanfattning : Modeling the natural growth of tumors is of value for evaluation of tumor progression and optimization of treatment strategies. However, modeling tumor growth based on clinical data is hampered by the limited data available, since therapy is in general initiated as early as possible after diagnosis. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Income diversification as a response to social-ecological traps : A case study of small-scale fisheries and aquaculture in the Tam Giang lagoon, Central Viet Nam

    Författare :Tong Thi Hai Hanh; Wiebren Boonstra; Melissa Marschke; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; alternative livelihoods; aquaculture households; income diversification; fishing households; small-scale aquaculture; small-scale fisheries; social-ecological traps; and Tam Giang lagoon; Natural Resources and Sustainable Development; Naturresurser och hållbar utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Many small-scale fishing and aquaculture households in the global South struggle with reinforcing feedbacks between resource degradation and livelihood impoverishment – a situation that is often resembled to a social-ecological trap. Studies suggest that facilitation of income diversification contributes to mitigation and even prevention of trap situations as it reduces exploitation pressure while at the same time makes the households’ livelihood more resilient.
