16. Coagulation of Cellulose: from Ionic-Liquid Solution to Cellulose Nanostructure
Sammanfattning : Abstract A linear chain of glucose monomers, cellulose, provides the structural reinforcement of the cell walls of plants and constitutes almost half of their dry mass. Wood and other plant-based raw materials are processed on a large industrial scale to isolate the cellulose, which is then dissolved. LÄS MER
17. Preparation of Electroconductive Paper by Deposition of Conducting Polymer
Sammanfattning : The thesis describes an investigation into the interaction between the conducting polymer and cellulosic materials, and the preparation of electroconductive paper. The adsorption behavior of the conducting polymer onto cellulosic materials was characterized. LÄS MER
18. Influence of the Gas Phase on Pretreatment of Kraft Pulp with Nitrogen Oxides
Sammanfattning : While nitric oxide (NO) is virtually inert against water-impregnated kraft pulp it participates in important reactions when reactive nitrogen compounds, e.g. NO2 and HNO2, have initiated lignin reactions. Experiments with kraft lignin (Indulin AT) showed that nitric oxide was both produced and consumed during treatment with NO2. LÄS MER
19. Towards a pure kraft lignin
Sammanfattning : The most widely used production method for paper pulp in the world is kraft pulping. In chemical pulping the polymer, lignin, which binds the wood fibres together, is partly depolymerized. This allows the wood fibres to be separated from each other. LÄS MER
20. Equilibrium of lignin precipitation: The effects of pH, temperature, ion strength and wood origins
Sammanfattning : The kraft process is the predominant method for producing pulp in Scandinavia. However, the material efficiency in modern kraft pulp mills for pulp production is only 40−55% and the final product consists mainly of cellulose. A novel process called “LignoBoost” has been introduced recently for extracting lignin from alkaline black liquor. LÄS MER
