  1. 1. Optimization of Just-in-Time Sequencing Problems and Supply Chain Logistics

    Författare :Gyan Thapa; Sergei Silvestrov; Anatoliy Malyarenko; George Fodor; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Just-in-time; JIT sequencing; apportionment; product rate variation; output rate variation; algorithms; heuristics; supply chain; logistics; queueing; non-linear integer programming; Mathematics Applied Mathematics; matematik tillämpad matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a comprehensive and comparative progress in sequencing approaches of mixed-model just-in-time (JIT) sequencing problem together with discrete apportioment problem (DAP). The goal of JIT sequencing problem (JITSP) is to keep the rate of usage of parts as constant as possible along the assembly lines, and the goal of DAP is to divide a given integer number of delegates proportionally among the states or the parties according to their population or votes. 2. 2. Local Adaptation, Countergradient Variation and Ecological Genetics of Life-history Traits in Rana Temporaria

    Författare :Ane Timenes Laugen; Wolf Blanckenhorn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; amphibians; Bergmanns rule; body size clines; countergradient variation; developmental rate; FST; temperature; QST; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; populationsbiologi; Population Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this work was to identify local adaptation processes in amphibian populations, thereby improving the general understanding of genetics and mechanisms behind the evolution and maintenance of biological diversity. Phenotypic and genetic variation in life-history traits was studied within and between populations common frog (Rana temporaria) populations along a 1600 km transect from southern Sweden to northern Finland. 3. 3. Exposure assessment for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders

    Författare :Istvan Balogh; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Yrkesmedicin; industrial medicine; Occupational health; heart rate; interindividual variation; index; arbetsmiljömedicin; job strain; Questionnaire; mechanical exposure;

    Sammanfattning : Work-related musculoskeletal disorders of shoulder/neck are a major and increasing problem. Beside the pain, they involve high cost for the employer and society. The total expenditure for the musculoskeletal disorders of the neck and upper limb have been estimated to 0.5-2. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cost-effective Sheet Metal Assembly by Automatic Path Planning and Line Balancing, Integrated with Dimensional Variation Analysis

    Författare :Johan Segeborn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robot coordination; sheet metal assembly; dimensional variation; robot motion planning; Equipment utilization; traveling salesman problems and robust design.; load balancing;

    Sammanfattning : Automobiles are an integral part of modern society and its way of life. In addition, automotive manufacturers are important institutions in society, summing the work of a vast array of sub suppliers, employing many. The margins are however moderate and competition is fierce. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Identification and Variation of some Functionality Related Characteristics of Pharmaceutically Relevant Solid Materials and their Effect on Product Performance

    Författare :Frauke Fichtner; Göran Alderborn; Åke Rasmuson; Peter Kleinebudde; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmaceutics; Particle size distribution; Degree of agglomeration; Amorphous lactose; Matrix agglomerates; Drug release; Compactability; Tablet tensile strength; Particle fracture strength; Surfactant; Compression; Galenisk farmaci;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to identify some functionality related characteristics of pharmaceutically relevant solid materials and to study the effect of their variation on processing behaviour and product performance. For this purpose, particles with different characteristics were prepared under a variety of conditions by crystal agglomeration, wet granulation and spray drying. LÄS MER
