1. Identification and Variation of some Functionality Related Characteristics of Pharmaceutically Relevant Solid Materials and their Effect on Product Performance
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to identify some functionality related characteristics of pharmaceutically relevant solid materials and to study the effect of their variation on processing behaviour and product performance. For this purpose, particles with different characteristics were prepared under a variety of conditions by crystal agglomeration, wet granulation and spray drying. LÄS MER
2. Liquid phase sintering of W-Ni-Fe composites : liquid penetration, agglomerate separation and tungsten particle growth
Sammanfattning : The initial stage of liquid phase sintering, involving liquid penetration, agglomerate separation, particle spreading and growth has been investigated in experiments using tungsten heavy alloys. The particle composites used were produced by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) of pure powder mixtures of W-Ni-Fe-(Co). LÄS MER
3. A spectroscopic study of polymer : Carbon nanotube composites
Sammanfattning : Since the identification of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by Ijima in 1991, this material has become a subject of great interest and effort in science because of the outstanding physical properties it exhibits. CNTs can be thought of as graphene sheets rolled into seamless cylinders of various diameters and in principle infinite length. LÄS MER
4. Melt Spun Electro-Conductive Polymer Composite Fibers
Sammanfattning : One interesting approach is the development of conductive polymer composite fibers for innovative textile applications such as in sensors, actuators and electrostatic discharge. In this study, conductive polymer composite fibers were prepared using several different blends containing conductive components: a conjugated polymer (polyaniline-complex) and/or carbon nanotubes. 5. The cell wall ultrastructure of wood fibres : effects of the chemical pulp fibre line
Sammanfattning : Knowledge of the ultrastructural arrangement within wood fibres is important for understanding the mechanical properties of the fibres themselves, as well as for understanding and controlling the ultrastructural changes that occur during pulp processing. The object of this work was to explore the use of atomic force microscopy (AFM) in studies of the cell wall ultrastructure and to see how this structure is affected in the kraft pulp fibre line.
