21. On the surface quality of continuously cast steels and phosphor bronzes
Sammanfattning : This thesis work concerns about the importance of the cast surfaces, surface phenomenon such as the formation of the oscillation marks and exudation and related defects including cracks and segregation that happened during the continuous casting. All of the investigated materials were collected during the plant trials while an in-depth analysis on these materials was performed at the laboratory scale with certain explanations supported by the schematic and theoretical models. 22. Studies to Avoid Decreased Efficiency in Multiple Stage Biological Wastewater Treatment Plants: Concerning Forests Industry Effluents
23. A Study of the Initial Mould Filling during Up-hill Ingot Casting
Sammanfattning : The fluid flow in the mould during up-hill teeming is of great importance for the quality of the cast ingot and thereby the quality of the final steel products. At the early stage of the filling of an up-hill teeming mould, liquid steel flows with a high velocity from the runner into the mould. LÄS MER
24. Influence of Ladle-slag Additions on BOF-Process Parameters
Sammanfattning : The influence of ladle-slag additions on the BOF-process performance were investigated in plant trials. The aim of the study was to recycle ladle slag from secondary steelmaking to the LD-converter to save lime and improve the slag formation. LÄS MER
25. Friend or Foe? Biocontrol interactions of Pythium oligandrum within the potato cropping system
Sammanfattning : The potato crop is a valuable but vulnerable food source on a global level. It is under constant pressure from destructive plant diseases such as early and late blight. Traditionally to control these diseases farmers have relied heavily on synthetic fungicide use. LÄS MER
