  1. 16. Probing Ligand Binding Mechanisms in Insulin-Regulated Aminopeptidases : Computational analysis and free energy calculations of binding modes

    Författare :Sudarsana Reddy Vanga; Hugo Gutiérrez-de-Terán; Johan Åqvist; Efstratios Stratikos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Docking; Molecular Dynamics; Binding free energy; Linear Interaction Energy; Free Energy Perturbation; Insulin-Regulated Aminopeptidase; Angiotensin IV; Oxytocin; Vasopressin; HA08; Aryl sulfonamides; HFI compounds.;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years insulin-regulated aminopeptidase (IRAP) has emerged as a new therapeutic target for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related disorders. So far, many potent and specific IRAP inhibitors had been disclosed, including peptides, peptidomimetics, and low-molecular-weight sulfonamides. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Anxiety among Adolescents : Measurement, Clinical Characteristics, and Influences of Parenting and Genetics

    Författare :Susanne Olofsdotter; K.W. Nilsson; Tomas Furmark; Mats Humble; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescent; anxiety; assessment; prevalence; comorbidity; parenting; oxytocin; gene–environment interaction; differential susceptibility; Child and Youth Psychiatry; Barn- och ungdomspsykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Anxiety is the most commonly reported mental health problem among adolescents. Still, many adolescents in need of treatment are not detected and the clinical characteristics and etiological pathways of adolescent anxiety are under-researched topics. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Water and protein solutions studied by field-dependent magnetic relaxation

    Författare :Kristofer Modig; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; relaxation; protein solvation; protein dynamics; protein denaturation; oxytocin; magnetic relaxation dispersion; nuclear magnetic resonance; lipid-binding protein; hydration; beta-lactoglobulin; BPTI; shielding anisotropy; water; Molecular biophysics; Molekylär biofysik;

    Sammanfattning : In the work presented, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxation is used to study wide range of systems. The thesis concerns solvent interactions studied with relaxation techniques that involve measurements at many fields, which allows the separation of individual relaxation mechanisms. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Third stage of labour-studies on management, blood loss and pain in Angola and Sweden

    Författare :Elisabeth Jangsten; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; third stage of labour; active management of the third stage of labour; postpartum haemorrhage; AMTSL; expectant management of the third stage of labour; EMTSL; maternal mortality; oxytocin; uterine contractions; labour pain; Midwifery;

    Sammanfattning : Management of the third stage of labour and risk factors for blood loss have been the focus of investigation for a long time. The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate management of the third stage of labour and its infl uence on blood loss and women’s experience of afterpains in both a low- and a high-income country, as well as midwives’ experience of managing this stage. 5. 20. Use and Misuse of Oxytocin During Delivery

    Författare :Maria Jonsson; Ulf Hanson; Solveig Nordén Lindeberg; Ingrid Östlund; Lennart Nordström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Obstetrics and gynaecology; Obstetrik och gynekologi; obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Sammanfattning : Obstetric malpractice claims, concerning delivery during a period of eight years, were analysed for motives behind disciplinary actions, and for the frequency of inappropriate oxytocin use.Failure to respond to signs of foetal distress, injudicious use of oxytocin and a failure to effect a timely delivery were the recurrent problems that accounted for the majority of disciplinary actions.
