  1. 11. Estimation of Nonlinear Latent Variable and Mixture Models

    Författare :Johan Vegelius; Shaobo Jin; Fan Yang-Wallentin; Melanie Wall; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; structural equation modeling; semiparametric; EM algorithm; adaptive Gauss-Hermite quadrature approximation; Laplace approximation; zero inflation; Statistics; Statistik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis methods are developed for estimation of latent variable models. In particular nonlinear structural equation models are estimated in the presence of ordinal data and mixture models for count data. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Pharmacometric Methods and Novel Models for Discrete Data

    Författare :Elodie L Plan; Mats O Karlsson; Laura Sargentini-Maier; Armel Stockis; Christian Laveille; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacometrics; pharmacodynamics; disease progression; modelling; discrete data; count; ordered categorical; repeated time-to-event; RTTCE; RCEpT; NONMEM; FOCE; LAPLACE; SAEM; AGQ; pain scores; epilepsy seizures; gastroesophageal symptoms; statistical power; simulations; diagnostics; PHARMACY; FARMACI; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmacodynamic processes and disease progression are increasingly characterized with pharmacometric models. However, modelling options for discrete-type responses remain limited, although these response variables are commonly encountered clinical endpoints. Types of data defined as discrete data are generally ordinal, e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Travel mode choice and sustainability: A psychological investigation of the use of a private car and car sharing services

    Författare :Érika Martins Silva Ramos; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the implications of research-based decision-making to develop socially robust technologies, policies, and urban planning in the transport sector, aiming for an inclusive and more sustainable transport system. What are the travel patterns of both users and non-users of car sharing and private cars in European cities? What are the main psychological aspects of and motives for making a travel mode choice? Study I presents a classification of motives considered as relevant when selecting a mode of transport, and it examines the relative importance of driving habits, car attitudes, descriptive norms, and motives for transport mode choices for commuting, shopping trips, child-related trips, and leisure trips. 4. 14. Glutamate modulates temporomandibular joint bone tissue resorption in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis

    Författare :Anna‐Kari Hajati; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim was to investigate the occurrence and development of TMJ bone tissue resorption and to identify predictors for progression during the two first years with rheumatoid arthritis. The thesis comprises one cross‐sectional part and one longitudinal part. LÄS MER

  5. 15. "I'm calling for hope, comfort and maybe some advice..." : Interaction and caller satisfaction in telenursing

    Författare :Marie Mattisson; Malou Lindberg; Sussanne Börjeson; Kristofer Årestedt; Inger K. Holmström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Telenursing; Telephone nursing; Social interaction; Nurse-patient relations; Patient satisfaction; Nursing models; Surveys and questionnaires;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The provision of nursing over the telephone is an appreciated asset in many parts of the world. Interaction between telenurse and caller is important for caller satisfaction, and satisfaction in turn is positively related to outcomes such as adherence, engagement in self-care and well-being.
