    Sammanfattning : Objective: Incidental findings of Calcified Carotid Artery Atheromas (CCAA) on Panoramic Radiographs (PRs) of the jaws can be a risk marker for cardiovascular disease.     Sammanfattning : Background: Dental caries still appears at high prevalence worldwide. Disease distribution is skewed with more disease in socio-economically weak groups.     Sammanfattning : Oral leukoplakia (OL) is clinically diagnosed as a white oral lesion that cannot be scraped of or diagnosed as any other type of oral lesion. OL has the potential to transform into oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The gold standard treatment is a combination of surgical excision if possible, and surveillance. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to gain knowledge about adults suffering from dental anxiety by studying the current prevalence of dental anxiety and concomitant factors, the impact of dental pain on everyday life among individuals suffering from severe dental anxiety, and to evaluate the validity of a psychometric measurement, the IDAF-4C+, used to measure the level of dental anxiety and to screen for a diagnosis of specific phobia for dentistry.
