  1. 11. MRI Studies of the Fetal Brain and Cranium

    Författare :Nuno Canto Moreira; Johan Wikström; Raii Raininko; Daniela Prayer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fetal MRI; Brain; Cranium; Development; Normal; Ear; Lip; Palate; Biometry; Hippocampus; Measurements; Radiologi; Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrasound is the primary modality for fetal imaging, but Magnetic Resonance Imaging nowadays has a valuable complementary role as it often reveals findings that alter pregnancy management. Knowledge on some clinically relevant areas of the normal fetal development is still lacking, and this was the aim of this project. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Polycystic ovary syndrome - morphologic and dynamic evaluation by magnetic resonance imaging

    Författare :Henrik Leonhardt; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; polycystic ovary syndrome; PCOS; magnetic resonance imaging; MRI; ultrasonography; three-dimensional imaging; adrenal hyperplasia; body composition; uterine morphology; uterine peristalsis; ovarian morphology; ovarian perfusion; antral follicle count; AMH; diagnostic accuracy;

    Sammanfattning : Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder, affecting up to 15% of women of reproductive age. The syndrome is characterized by oligo-anovulation, hyperandrogenism and polycystic ovaries. What constitutes the best definition of PCOS is still a matter of debate. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Prediction of disease progression in early rheumatoid arthritis. A study of some imaging and laboratory variables

    Författare :Kristina Forslind; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; muscle system; Skeleton; Rheumatoid arthritis; MRI; Reduced bone mass; Disease prediction; Anti-CCP; DEXA DXA;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: To investigate the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), assessment of bone mineral density (BMD) and antibodies to citrullinated proteins (anti-CCP) in predicting radiologic outcome in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Patients: All patients were included in the BARFOT programme (baseline). LÄS MER

  4. 14. Ultrasonography for Diagnosis, Intervention and Follow-up in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

    Författare :Louise Laurell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ultrasonography; color Doppler; juvenile idiopathic arthritis; symptomatic ankles and wrists; synovitis; enthesitis; US-guided steroid injection; follow-up; MRI;

    Sammanfattning : Early therapeutic intervention and the use of novel, highly effective treatments in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) have improved the outcome in many diseased children, but have also increased the need for more precise methods for evaluating disease activity. In this context, both ultrasonography (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) play an important role in adult rheumatology, although these methods have yet not been fully evaluated in JIA. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus : Cerebrospinal Fluid Tap Test and Magnetic Resonance Imaging as Preoperative Prognostic Investigations

    Författare :Johan Virhammar; Elna-Marie Larsson; Katarina Laurell; Kristina Giuliana Cesarini; Magnus Tisell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; normal pressure hydrocephalus; NPH; cerebrospinal fluid disorders; dementia; MRI; CSF tap test; CBF; ASL; Neurology; Neurologi; Neurosurgery; Neurokirurgi; Radiologi; Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a condition with dilated cerebral ventricles but intracranial pressure within normal limits. The symptoms of gait impairment, cognitive decline and urinary incontinence develop gradually. Treatment with shunt insertion results in improvement in eight out of ten patients. LÄS MER
