  1. 16. Helping Hands : Motion and integration in action memory

    Författare :Jan von Essen; Lars-Göran Nilsson; Monik Knopf; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; episodic memory; action memory; cued recall; motor activation; association; sentence integration; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Verbal information has predominantly been the to-be-remembered materials in human memory research for more than a century. In recent years some interesting deviations from the established rules of verbal memory have been observed in subjects who have been asked to motorically self-perform (enact) action sentences at the encoding phase of the memory task, instead of only hearing or reading them as in a traditional verbal task (VT). 2. 17. If only I could sleep, maybe I could remember

    Författare :Frida H Rångtell; Christian Benedict; Tiina Paunio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sleep; Memory; Learning; Motor skills; Praise; Reward; Sleep deprivation; Sex-differences; LED-screens; Circadian rhythm; Competence-based self-esteem;

    Sammanfattning : Memory lies the ground for human cognitive skills, enabling complex social interaction, abstract thinking, and execution of precise motor skills. Development of these memory functions can be modified by several factors, including previous knowledge, reward, and sleep. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Programming and updaing of reaching movements

    Författare :Sergei Perfiliev; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Reaching movements; motor cortex; central command; neuronal recording; trajectory updating; descending pathways; spinal cord lesions;

    Sammanfattning : Neuronal activity in the motor cortex (area 4) was recorded during reaching movements in cats, trained to perform target-reaching in response to a tone burst. Out of 350 task related neurones 12% generated short latency (20?110 ms) sensory responses to the cue triggering the reaching movement. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Enriched, task specific therapy in the chronic phase after stroke

    Författare :Sara Vive; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; enriched environment; rehabilitation; intense training; qualitative research; gait analysis; gait speed; function; activity; participation; health;

    Sammanfattning : Recovery and improvement of motor functions and abilities after stroke depend on the spontaneous recovery process but also on the reorganization of neural mechanisms. In animal studies, an Enriched Environment (EE) has proved to be an effective intervention for boosting brain plasticity and recovery after stroke. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Physical Activity and Alzheimer's Disease : Measurements, Observations and Subjective Experiences

    Författare :Ylva Cedervall; Anna Cristina Åberg; Lars Lannfelt; Lena Kilander; Per-Olof Sandman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Caregiver; continuity theory; dementia; dual-task; gait analysis; in-depth interview; mixed methods research; participant observation; physical capacity; qualitative; selfhood; walking; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi; Geriatrics; Geriatrik;

    Sammanfattning : Gait disturbances such as slow walking speed and step-to-step variability have been reported among people with mild Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and as risk factors for functional decline, dependency, and falls. Additionally, AD-related emotional reactions and decreased initiative can lead to physical inactivity. LÄS MER
