    Författare :Sofia Unnerståle; Lena Mäler; Göran Widmalm; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peptide-lipid interaction; membrane mimetic; NMR; biophysics; Molecular biophysics; Molekylär biofysik; biofysik; Biophysics;

    Sammanfattning : The complexity of multi cellular organisms demands systems that facilitate communicationbetween cells. The neurons in our brains for instance are specialized in this cell-cellcommunication. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Plasma membrane/cytoskeleton interactions in plants

    Författare :Anders Sonesson; Lunds universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The way in which the cortical cytoskeleton associates to the plasma membrane (PM) must be elucidated to understand the structural dynamics of many processes in the plant cell. In the present study, isolated cauliflower (Brassica oleracea L.) PM vesicles were used to characterize membrane/cytoskeleton interactions. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Functionalization and characterization of surface supported lipid membranes and their application in cell culture

    Författare :Dorota Thid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cell - surface interaction; supported phospholipid bilayer; IKVAV; DHA; stem progenitor cells; neural cells; surface analytical techniques; QCM-D; surface functionalization; peptide; cell differentiation; cell attachment; membrane; fatty acid;

    Sammanfattning : Phospholipid bilayers supported on a solid surface constitute a versatile, biomimetic platform for a variety of applications, such as biosensing, drug delivery research, cell engineering and as cell membrane mimics in fundamental cell research. Phosphocholine supported lipid bilayers are resistant to cell attachment in a wide range of conditions, and can be functionalized with bioactive signaling molecules to promote specific interactions with cells. Sammanfattning : As resistance towards conventional antibiotics is becoming more pronounced, cationic antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have received considerable attention as possible therapeutic alternatives. Thousands of potent AMPs occur in humans, animals, plants and fungi as a natural part of the immune system. LÄS MER
