6. Milankovitch Cycles in Chalks, Danish North Sea, Detected by Use of Magnetic Susceptibility
Sammanfattning : Subdivision of the Maastrichtian chalk from the Danish North Sea has proven to be difficult because of the homogenous composition and appearance. A high-resolution subdivision of the chalk yields new information and better understanding of the depositional environment along with the possibility of an advantageous correlation. LÄS MER
7. Carbon-based magnetic nanomaterials
Sammanfattning : Magnetism of carbon-based materials is a challenging area for both fundamental research and possible applications. We present studies of low-dimensional carbon-based magnetic systems (fullerene-diluted molecular magnets, carbon nanotubes, graphite fluoride, and nanoporous carbon) by means of SQUID magnetometer, X-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy, the latter techniques used as complementary instruments to find a correlation between the magnetic behaviour and the structure of the samples. 8. Tunable Magnetic Properties of Transition Metal Compounds
Sammanfattning : The magnetic properties of transition metal compounds have been studied using SQUID-magnetometry, magnetic force microscopy and Lorentz transmission electron microscopy. New magnetic materials have been found and their magnetic properties have been determined. How the magnetic properties of a material can be changed through e.g. LÄS MER
9. Susceptibility effects in MRI and 1H MRS. The spurious echo artifact and susceptibility measurements
Sammanfattning : When performing magnetic resonance (MR) experiments, a strong homogeneous magnetic field is often preferred, especially in clinical applications. However, all objects that are placed in the magnetic field will disturb the field homogeneity and cause local magnetic field gradients. LÄS MER
10. 3D Structure and Emplacement of the Alnö Alkaline and Carbonatite Complex, Sweden : Integrated Geophysical and Physical Property Investigations
Sammanfattning : Carbonatites are carbonate-rich magmatic rocks that are rare and of great relevance for our understanding of crustal and mantle processes. Although found on all continents and in settings ranging from Archaean to present-day, their deeper plumbing system is still poorly understood. LÄS MER
