11. Characterization of Chimney Flue Gas Flows : Flow Rate Measurements with Averaging Pitot Probes
Sammanfattning : Performance testing methods of boilers in transient operating conditions (start, stop and combustion power modulation sequences) need the combustion rate quantified to allow for the emissions to be quantified. One way of quantifying the combustion rate of a boiler during transient operating conditions is by measuring the flue gas flow rate. LÄS MER
12. Development of LPP-Burner for Industrial Gas Turbine Application
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports the work done in the development of a modified Lean Premix Prevaporised (LPP) burner for the use in Alstom Power Sweden’s industrial gas turbines. Incentive for the development of the modified burner have been the need to increase the flame stability over the operating range for the burner, especially for the liquid fuel but also the gaseous fuel operation. 13. Numerical Investigation of the Aerodynamic Vibration Excitation of High-Pressure Turbine Rotors
Sammanfattning : The design parameters axial gap and stator count of highpressure turbine stages are evaluated numerically towards theirinfluence on the unsteady aerodynamic excitation of rotorblades. Of particular interest is if and how unsteadyaerodynamic considerations in the design could reduce the riskofhigh cycle fatigue (HCF) failures of the turbine rotor. LÄS MER
14. Gas Mixing in a Circulating Fluidised Bed Boiler
Sammanfattning : The present thesis is a study on the gas-mixing behaviour in a circulating fluidised bed (CFB) boiler. The aim is to describe how gas is spread in different regions of a CFB furnace and to explain variations in the mixing rate under different operating conditions. LÄS MER
15. Study and Development of Techniques to Improve Engine Stability and Reduce Emissions from Natural Gas Engines
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to find ways to improve combustion and reduce emissions from supercharged natural gas engines. In-cylinder flow measurements were made with laser doppler velocimetry, LDV, heat release was calculated from cylinder pressures and emissions were measured at various locations. LÄS MER
