21. The Multifunctional Pipette. A Microfluidic Technology for the Biosciences
Sammanfattning : The theme of the work described in this thesis is the generation and application of liquid microenvironments in chemistry and bioscience using microfluidic devices. First, a computer controlled multi-stage dilution system to generate time-dependent chemical waves was developed, and its application was demonstrated on model biomembranes. LÄS MER
22. Novel Microfluidic Devices Based on a Thermally Responsive PDMS Composite
Sammanfattning : The field of micro total analysis systems (μTAS) aims at developments toward miniaturized and fully integrated lab-on-a-chip systems for applications, such as drug screening, drug delivery, cellular assays, protein analysis, genomic analysis and handheld point-of-care diagnostics. Such systems offer to dramatically reduce liquid sample and reagent quantities, increase sensitivity as well as speed of analysis and facilitate portable systems via the integration of components such as pumps, valves, mixers, separation units, reactors and detectors. 23. MEMS Interfaces for Bioanalysis Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with various aspects of using open microfluidic interfaces. Three specific areas of application are studied. The first is air-to-liquid interfacing in biosensors with possibilities for component integration. A micromachined interface for airborne sample-to-liquid and droplet-to-liquid adsorption is discussed. LÄS MER
24. On acoustic particle and cell manipulation in microfluidic systems
Sammanfattning : The combination of laminar flows in microfabricated channels and acoustic forces induced in ultrasonic standing wave fields offers new possibilities for advanced particle and cell manipulation in lab-on-a-chip applications as well as in relatively high throughput applications. Acoustic particle manipulation systems can be used e.g. LÄS MER
25. CHALMEX FS-13 investigations for process implementation
Sammanfattning : From successive neutron absorption by uranium in nuclear reactors, transuranic elements such as neptunium, plutonium, americium and curium are produced. These elements are the main reason for the long-lived, highly radiotoxic and heat-producing nature of spent nuclear fuel. LÄS MER
