1. Single-Molecule Detection and Optical Scanning in Miniaturized Formats
Sammanfattning : In later years polymer replication techniques have become a frequently employed fabrication method for microfluidic and micro-optical devices. This thesis describes applications and further developments of microstructures replicated in polymer materials. LÄS MER
2. Design and development of electrochemical sensors with application in bioanalysis
Sammanfattning : There is a continuous search for reliable, robust, easy to use, portable and cost effective analytical tools with applications in food industry, biomedicine, environmental monitoring and homeland security. The main focus of this thesis is the development of electrochemical (bio)sensors and bioanalysis systems (to be applied in two major fields of interest: food & beverage industry and biomedical research) for monitoring key analytes in complex matrices, such as: meat samples, fermentation broths, and cell culture media. 3. Electroanalytical devices with fluidic control using textile materials and methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis, written by Ingrid Öberg Månsson at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and entitled “Electroanalytical devices with fluidic control using textile materials and methods”, presents experimental studies on the development of textile based electronic devices and biosensors. One of the reasons why this is of interest is the growing demand for integrated smart products for wearable health monitoring or energy harvesting. LÄS MER
4. Textile and Paper Microfluidic Platforms for Electroanalytical Nucleic Acid Testing
Sammanfattning : Rapid and accurate near-patient diagnostic tests outside well-equipped laboratories are essential in the fight against outbreaks of infectious diseases, especially when these can turn into pandemics. As severe acute respiratory syndrome CoV 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the latest but probably not the last pandemic of the 21st century. LÄS MER
5. Novel Microfluidic Devices Based on a Thermally Responsive PDMS Composite
Sammanfattning : The field of micro total analysis systems (μTAS) aims at developments toward miniaturized and fully integrated lab-on-a-chip systems for applications, such as drug screening, drug delivery, cellular assays, protein analysis, genomic analysis and handheld point-of-care diagnostics. Such systems offer to dramatically reduce liquid sample and reagent quantities, increase sensitivity as well as speed of analysis and facilitate portable systems via the integration of components such as pumps, valves, mixers, separation units, reactors and detectors.
