16. Recognition molecules of the complement system: C1q and mannan-binding lectin in autoimmunity and immune defence
Sammanfattning : The C1 subcomponent C1q and the mannan-binding lectin (MBL) are recognition proteins of the complement system, and have similar structure. C1q binds to IgG and IgM and activates the classical pathway. MBL binds to carbohydrate structures and activates the lectin pathway. LÄS MER
17. Collagenous colitis. Epidemiology, risk factors, clinical presentation and associated autoimmune disorders
Sammanfattning : Collagenous colitis (CC) affects middle-aged women and results in chronic watery non-bloody diarrhoea. The incidence of CC has increased but has never been determined in southern Sweden. During the period 2001-2010 the mean annual incidence was stable; 5.4/105 (median age 71 years). LÄS MER
18. Chronic Arthritis in Rats; Pathogenesis and genetic factors
Sammanfattning : The immune pathology and MHC association of chronic arthritis was studied in three rat models for reumatoid arthritis (RA). Susceptible rat strains develop a T cell dependent chronic disease after immunization with rat collagen type II (CII). LÄS MER
19. The role of leucine-rich repeat glycoproteins/proteoglycans in the assembly of collagen matrices
Sammanfattning : The properties of different connective tissues depend on the synthesis and assembly of macromolecular structures composed of collagen and other extracellular matrix components. Mechanisms modulating these events play important roles in the formation of a functional tissue. LÄS MER
20. Molecular and clinical studies of cartilage and bone macromolecules in arthritis
Sammanfattning : The pathogenesis of inflammatory arthritides include synovial inflammation and joint tissue destruction. Tissue destruction has traditionally been regarded a consequence of inflammation, but recent observations indicate that the processes are not always closely linked and may proceed uncoupled. LÄS MER
