  1. 1. Pro- and anticoagulant activities of factor V

    Författare :Elisabeth Thorelli; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; activated protein C; protein S; factor VIII; factor V; procoagulant; anticoagulant; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : Coagulation factor V (FV) is activated by thrombin through proteolytic cleavage at Arg-709, Arg-1018 and Arg-1545. Upon thrombin activation, the active form of factor V (FVa) is formed. FVa functions as a cofactor to factor Xa in the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin during coagulation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Improved techniques for CE-MALDI-MS off-line coupling and MALDI-MS analysis of primarily hydrophobic proteins and peptides

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Capillary electrophoresis; Hydrophobic peptides; Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry; Prestructured target; Off-line interface; Silicon microcanal; Matrix; Protein cleavage digestion.; Kapillärelektrofores; Hydrofoba peptider; Matris-assisterad laserdesorptions-joniserings-masspektrometri; Strukturbelagd provplatta; Off-line interface; Mikrokanal i kisel; Matris; Proteinklyvning -spjälkning.; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Due to the hydrophobic nature of integral membrane proteins (IMP) they give rise to several difficulties concerning handling and analysis, which is not the case for the most water soluble proteins. New analysis methods are needed, where the insolubility problems of the hydrophobic proteins due to aggregation and adhesion are tackled. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Analysis of proteins related toautoimmune and inflammatorydiseases with focus on newenrichment methodologies and MALDI-TOF MS

    Författare :Yuye Zhou; Åsa Emmer; Margret Thorsteinsdottir; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Protein; Glycopeptide; IgG; Osteopontin; Enrichment; Digestion; Separation; Microchip; MALDI-TOF MS; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins have been widely studied in biological sample analysis due to the association with diseases. In the present project, method and technique development was carried out on the analysis of two proteins, immunoglobulin G (IgG) and osteopontin (OPN). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Genotypic and phenotypic characterisation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae

    Författare :Magnus Unemo; Bengt Wretlind; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae (the gonococcus) is the aetiological agent of gonorrhoea, which remains a major sexually transmitted infection/disease (STI/STD) worldwide. The incidence of gonorrhoea was previously high in many countries, Sweden included. The incidence in Sweden culminated in 1970 with 487 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Investigation of Coordination Modes of Organosulfur Ligands to osmium and Rhodium Carbonyl Clusters- Possible Relevance to Hydrodesulfurization Reactions

    Författare :Nitsa Kiriakidou-Kazemifar; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thioethers; thiols; HDS processes; organosulfur compounds; polynuclear metal complexes; Metallorganisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; thiophenes;

    Sammanfattning : The coordination and fundamental transformations of organosulfur compounds to polynuclear metal complexes has been studied as models for possible surface species in industrial HDS processes. Reactions between [Os3(CO)11(NCMe)] and various thiols have been studied by UV-Vis, IR and NMR spectroscopy and all experimental findings indicate that the reactions proceed via a two-step consecutive process involving the intermediate [Os3(CO)11(RSH)], which contains an agostic Os-H-S interaction, and which leads to the formation of the final product [Os3(CO)10(m-H)(m-SR)].
