26. Ion channels and intrinsic membrane properties of locomotor network neurons in the lamprey spinal cord
Sammanfattning : NMDA-receptor dependent membrane potential oscillations and postinhibitory rebound are examples of intrinsic membrane properties of many neurons of rhythm-generating networks, and are considered to play major roles in the operation of the spinal locomotor network of the lamprey vertebrate model. A significant feature of many lamprey spinal cord neurons is their ability to generate pacemaker-like membrane potential oscillations in the presence of the glutamate agonist NMDA. LÄS MER
27. Charged Particle Transport: As Information Source about Ion Conductors, Dielectric Materials, and Drug Delivery Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats charged particle transport, mostly in solid materials but also, to some extent, in aqueous media. Three major types of materials have been investigated; dielectric materials, ion conductors, and drug-delivery systems. LÄS MER
28. Charge Transport in Transition Metal Oxide Thin Films and Electrochromic Devices
Sammanfattning : Thin film devices for windows, mirrors, space applications and other purposes, have become an essential part of modern technology. A great advantage with a thin film device is the small amount of material used and the compact volume of the device. LÄS MER
29. Drug Diffusion and Nano Excipient Formation Studied by Electrodynamic Methods
Sammanfattning : New smart drugs demand new smart drug delivery systems and also new smart analysis methods for the drug delivery process and material characterization. This thesis contributes to the field by introducing a new electrodynamic approach for studying the drug diffusion proc-esses as well as the formation of a new type of drug delivery systems, the so called mesoporous nano excipients. 30. In-line application of electric fields in capillary separation systems
Sammanfattning : The magnitude of an electric field possible to apply in a capillary separation system is limited, because a high electric field causes a too high current through the capillary. Application of the electric field in-line will give an increased conductivity in the column, further increasing the risk of too high currents. LÄS MER
