16. Nanolatexes: a versatile toolbox for cellulose modification
Sammanfattning : Cellulosic materials are widely used in our everyday lives, ranging from paperand packaging to biomedical applications. However, in most applications, cellulose must coexist with hydrophobic polymers which can be challenging due to its hydrophilic character. This has encouraged the exploration of chemical and physical modifications of cellulose. LÄS MER
17. Metal distribution and mobility under alkaline conditions
Sammanfattning : The adsorption of an element, expressed as its distribution between liquid (aquatic) and solid phases in the biogeosphere, largely determines its mobility and transport properties. This is of fundamental importance in the assessment of the performance of e.g. geologic repositories for hazardous elements like radionuclides. LÄS MER
18. Metastable Alumina from Theory: Bulk, Surface, and Growth of κ-Al2O3
Sammanfattning : Aluminas are materials of high technological importance that show a fascinating structural flexibility, with a large amount of different phases (alpha, gamma, eta, delta, kappa, chi, ...) and phase transitions at relatively high temperatures. LÄS MER
19. Surface Interactions in Powder Injection Moulding
Sammanfattning : Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) is an attractive technique for producing complex components in large quantities my means of powder technology. The process includes mixing powder with a suitable binder, usually a thermoplastic polymer. Because of the large attractive forces between small particles the powder can be agglomerated in the binder. LÄS MER
20. Surface Complexation Studies in An (Th, U(IV), Pu(VI)) Systems
Sammanfattning : Two-phase systems containing an electrolyte solution and a suspended solid were studied. The common denominator for the three systems examined in this work is that they contain actinides (elements of atomic numbers between 89 and 103) in either the solid phase or as a sorbate. Experiments were done on simple oxides. LÄS MER
