  1. 16. Why nothing matters : A tale of vacua in the early Universe

    Författare :Aliki Litsa; Katherine Freese; M. C. David Marsh; Marco Peloso; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; inflation; reheating; Higgs; cosmological phase transitions; Theoretical Physics; teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The paradigm of inflation –  a period of accelerated expansion in the very early Universe –  was introduced to give solutions to a number of problems encountered in Standard Big Bang cosmology. Additionally, due to its quantum nature, inflation is able to generate the necessary primordial inhomogeneity “seeds”, which eventually evolve into large-scale structures. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Essays in Empirical Expectations

    Författare :Daniel Ekeblom; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Survey; Inflation; Expectations; Entrepreneur; Information; Communication;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates survey expectations from the Economic Tendency Survey for households, provided by the Swedish National Institute of Economic Research, for the years 1995-2011. The first chapter relates a part of the research literature to the overall purpose of the thesis, which is to investigate rational properties of empirical expectations. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Empirical Essays in Macroeconomics and Finance

    Sammanfattning : Derivation and Estimation of a New Keynesian Phillips Curve in a Small Open Economy This paper explores how well Swedish inflation is explained by a New Keynesian Phillips Curve. As the real driving variable in the Phillips Curve, a measure of firms' real marginal cost is compared to the traditional output gap. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Cosmoparticle Physics and String Theory

    Författare :Stefan Sjörs; Marcus Berg; Joseph Conlon; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supersymmetry; dark matter; cosmology; inflation; modifications of gravity; string theory; flux compactifications; perturbative string theory; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with phenomenological and theoretical aspects of cosmoparticle physics and string theory. There are many open questions in these topics. In connection with cosmology we would like to understand the detailed properties of dark matter, dark energy, generation of primordial perturbations, etc. LÄS MER
