  1. 11. The Book of Hours of Johannete Ravenelle and the Parisian Book Illumination Around 1400

    Författare :Eva Lq Sandgren; Susie Nash; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Art history; Illumination of Books and Manuscripts; Miniature Painting; Painting; Gothic; Book Production; Medieval; Artists’ workshops; Illuminators; Books of Hours; Manuscript Design; Art Patronage; Jean de France; duc de Berry; Johannete Ravenelle; late 14th Century; 1390–1410; the Master of BN fr. 159; Uppsala university Library ms UUB C 517e; Petites Heures de Jean de Berry BN lat. 18014 ; Iconography; Konstvetenskap; Art; Konstvetenskap; Konstvetenskap; History of Art;

    Sammanfattning : Within the French book of hours C 517e in the manuscript collection of the University Library in Uppsala, the name of the owner, Johannete Ravenelle, appears in a prayer. Examination of the decoration, miniatures and texts demonstrates that ms C 517e is consistent with Parisian art and books of hours around 1400. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Illumination in single cell optical microscopy studies - friend and foe

    Författare :Kristofer Bodvard; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; yeast; transcription factors; signalling; fluorescence microscopy; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; light-induced stress; phototoxicity; single cell imaging;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on how to use light as a biological stress factor in optical microscopy experiments and simultaneously use the illumination to image the spatial and temporal protein dynamics in single yeast cells. The stress responses to environmental changes other than light have been extensively investigated in budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, often using techniques based on population averages. 3. 13. High-speed 3D imaging of liquid jets, surfaces and respiratory droplets

    Författare :Adrian Roth; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser Induced Fluorescence; Volumetric imaging; Structured Illumination; 3D Reconstruction; Stereoscopy; 3D Particle Tracking Velocimetry; COVID19; sprays; respiratory droplets; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Roth;

    Sammanfattning : Sprays are commonly found in, among other, combustion, agriculture and food processing. For each of these applications, the understanding of spray liquid dynamics is crucial for optimization of efficiency, accuracy, and robustness of the spray-system in use. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Real-Time GPU Algorithms: Parallel Primitives and Rendering of Participating Media

    Författare :Markus Billeter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; grids; indirect illumination; shafts of light; multiple scattering; stream compaction; single scattering; parallel primitives; GPGPU;

    Sammanfattning : Modern graphics processing units, GPUs, present an immense resource of computational power, that however remains challenging to fully harness. This thesis explores four algorithms and methods that attempt to take full advantage of the resources provided by a GPU. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Multi-Dimensional Quantitative Laser-based Diagnostics - Development and Practial Applications

    Författare :Rikard Wellander; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Post injection; Structured illumination; Mie scattering; Dense sprays; Extinction coefficient; Signal attenuation; Laser extinction; Multiple scattering; Scattering measurements; Planar laser induced fluorescence; Time resolved; Imaging through turbulent media; Three-dimensional image acquisition; Diesel particulate filter regeneration; Wall impingent; Biodiesel; LII; Large-bore gas Engine; Pre-chamber ignition; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Wellander;

    Sammanfattning : Laser based optical diagnostic methods are routinely used in combustion research. Many of the more common approaches are based on illuminating a cross-section of the sample with a thin laser sheet. For example, by targeting an electronic transition in a molecule, its concentration within the plane illuminated by the laser sheet can be deduced. LÄS MER
