  1. 26. Care for the New-Born : Breastfeeding and Skin-to-Skin Contact

    Författare :Paola Oras; Eva-Lotta Funkquist; Lena Hellström Westas; Tomas Ljungberg; Kerstin Hedberg Nyqvist; Jonna Bornemark; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Breastfeeding; Lactation; Human Milk; Newborn; Infant; Preterm Infant; Kangaroo Mother Care; Mother-infant interaction; Parent-Child Relations; Object Attachment; Self Efficacy; Implementation Science; Quality of healthcare; Quality improvement; Caring Sciences; Vårdvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Breastfeeding is associated with improved health in mothers and children and human milk is especially beneficial for preterm infants. The vast majority of pregnant women in Sweden intend to breastfeed, but breastfeeding rates are suboptimal, with even lower rates for preterm infants. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Epithelial barrier dysfunction in ileal Crohn's disease

    Författare :Johan Dabrosin-Söderholm; Svante Nordgren; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :acetylsalicylic add; confocal microscopy; Crohn s disease; cytoskeleton; electron microscopy; genetics; human; ileum; inflammatory bowel disease; intestinal absorption; intestinal mucosa; macromolecules; mitochondria; ovalbumin; permeability; sodium caprate; tight junctions; transcytosis; uncoupling agents; Ussing chamber; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The study aimed at investigating the intestinal barrier in Crohn's disease, with special reference to epithelial responses to luminal stimuli, and to permeation of proteins.Ileal mucosa from patients undergoing intestinal resection was studied in vitro in Ussing chambers. 3. 28. Early-life gut microbiota and breast milk oligosaccharides in relation to childhood immune maturation and allergy

    Författare :Ylva Margareta Sjögren; Eva Sverremark-Ekström; Outi Vaarala; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; allergy; infant; gut microbiota; human milk oligosaccharides; Bifidobacterium; Lactobacillus; Bacteroides fragilis; Clostridium difficile; family size; secretory IgA; toll like receptor; Immunology; Immunologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Atopic allergy is the most common chronic disease among children in the developed world. This high prevalence could be associated with low microbial exposure. The early gut microbiota appears to be important for immune maturation. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Human eosinophils and their activation by allergens via danger signal receptors

    Författare :Elin Redvall; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :human eosinophils; danger signals; allergen; formyl peptide receptors; CCR3; chemotaxis; degranulation; free oxygen radicals; receptor desensitization;

    Sammanfattning : Human eosinophilic granulocytes are polymorphonuclear cells with a powerful arsenal of cytotoxic substances in their granules, which are mainly found in the gastrointestinal mucosa, and the respiratory and genitourinary tracts. Their physiological role is incompletely understood, although it is likely they protect the mucosal surfaces, perhaps by recognizing danger signals present on microorganisms or released from damaged tissue. 5. 30. Mercury exposure during early human development

    Författare :Karolin Ask Björnberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Methylinmercury; inorganic mercury; selenium; human; fetal exposure; infant exposure; pregnancy; placenta; breast milk; fish consumption; dietary advisories;

    Sammanfattning : People are exposed to methylimercury (MeHg) mainly via consumption of fish, especially large predatory fish species. Inhaled mercury vapour (Hg0) released from dental amalgam fillings is the main source of exposure to inorganic mercury (I-Hg). In the body, a small fraction of MeHg is demethylated to inorganic He while most Hg0 is oxidized to Hg2+. LÄS MER
