1. Performance Improvement : a method to support performance improvement in industrial operations
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to: Develop and evaluate a method which supports performance improvement in industrial operations. This has been done through several case studies and literature research. The result is a scientifically evaluated Performance Improvement Method. LÄS MER
2. Performance-based costing as decision support for development of discrete part production : Linking performance, production costs and sustainability
Sammanfattning : In today’s global market, the industry is struggling every day to make the “correct decisions”. Decisions concerning production can range from smaller improvements to choice tool or equipment investments to relocation of entire production facilities. LÄS MER
3. On the Analysis of Energy Efficient Aircraft Engines
Sammanfattning : Aero engine performance analysis is highly multidimensional using various measures of component performance such as turbomachinery and mechanical efficiencies, and pressure loss coefficients. Using conventional performance analysis, relying on only the laws of thermodynamics, it is possible to understand how the performance parameters affect the component performance, but it is difficult to directly compare the magnitude of various loss sources. 4. On Contact Mechanisms and Mechanical Transmission Performance
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers, which treat the modelling of a spur gear set and a disc brake, and the interaction between the machine elements. Features of the performance are studied in relation to the initial stated assumptions. LÄS MER
5. High Performance Bio-based Composites : Mechanical and Environmental Durability
Sammanfattning : The presented work is a part of the ongoing effort on the development of high performance bio-based composites with enhanced durability, under static and dynamic mechanical loading including the exposure to elevated humidity. The impact of relative humidity on the performance of cellulosic fibers (natural and regenerated), bio-based resins and their composites was studied. LÄS MER
