  1. 1. Treatment of Right Ventricular Failure through Partial Volume Exclusion An Experimental Study

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Per Vikholm; Uppsala universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Right Heart Failure; Left Ventricular Assist Device; Glenn shunt; Thorax Surgery; Thoraxkirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Implantation of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) is a potential treatment in terminal heart failure. Right ventricular (RV) failure is a severe complication in these patients and sometimes requires additional placement of a right ventricular assist device (RVAD). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Melt Spun Piezoelectric Textile Fibres - an Experimental Study ANJA LUND Department of Materials and Manufacturing Technology Chalmers University of Technology ABSTRACT The manufacturing and characterisation of piezoelectric textile fibres are described in this thesis. A piezoelectric material is one that generates an electric voltage when deformed, a property which exists in a number of materials. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mineral fibers, cigarette smoke, and oxidative DNA damage : An experimental study

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Per Leandersson; Östergötlands Läns Landsting.; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1992]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : This study concerns the ability of mineral fibers and cigarette smoke to generate reactive oxygen metabolites and to cause damage to DNA. The generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH") was demonstrated by using the DNA base, deoxyguanosine (dG) as a trapping agent for OH" and determining its hydroxylation to 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (80HdG), and oxidative DNA damage was assessed as formation of 80HdG in isolated DNA or in DNA of human lung cells in culture. 4. 4. Nitric oxide and extravasation in endotoxaemia : an experimental study

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Kerstin Metcalf; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Despite advances in intensive care the mortality of patients in septic shock is still high. In early stages the condition is characterised by circulatory failure that is a consequence of myocardial depression, vasodilatation with decreased sensitivity to catecholamine stimulation and increased loss of protein and fluid from the circulation. 5. 5. Distribution of Ventilation Air and Heat by Buoyancy Forces inside Buildings An Experimental Study

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Claes Blomqvist; Högskolan i Gävle.; KTH.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Civil engineering and architecture Building engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur Byggnadsteknik; building ventilation; thermal forces; buoyancy; gravity currents; large openings; heating; air quality; forced convection; free convection;

    Sammanfattning : The main task of the ventilation system in a building is to maintain the air quality and (together with the heating or cooling system) the thermal climate at an acceptable level within the building. This means that a sufficient amount of ventilation air at the appropriate temperature and quality must be supplied to satisfy thermal comfort and air quality demands and that this air is distributed to the parts of the building where people reside.
