   Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to the literature on racism in healthcare and the scholarship on racism and racialisation by moving the current focus of healthcare literature from demonstrating the existence of racism to examining accounts of racialisation through analysing healthcare staff’s racialised talk. Drawing from critical ‘race’ and postcolonial theories, the thesis departs from the premise that racism is a structural phenomenon embedded in nation states and institutions, including healthcare across the globe.    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by symmetric joint inflammation that often involves the small joints of the hands and feet, with progressive destruction, deformity, and disability of the joints. Small joints of the hands and feet are frequently the first to be involved in RA, which is why methods for assessment of these joints are of particular importance at the onset of RA and early stage of the disease.    Sammanfattning : Animal reproduction is a heavily studied biological event, however our knowledge regarding the molecular basis of the recognition between gametes – egg and sperm – still remains very incomplete. In particular, it is currently unclear whether protein epitopes important for fertilization have been conserved among different species during evolution, and why gamete interaction proteins generally are subjected to strong positive Darwinian selection.
