11. A study of the autogenous Hydrogen-DRI slag and its impact on the dephosphorization of fossil-free steel at different oxygen potentials
Sammanfattning : The present study comprises aspects related to the phosphate capacity, the dephosphorization of fossil-free steel, and the utilization of potential by-products. The focus is mainly given to the functions and impact of the autogenous H-DRI slag in the dephosphorization process and the possibility for future slag valorization. LÄS MER
12. Development of Alumina Forming Alloys for High-Temperature Energy Applications
Sammanfattning : Liquid lead as heat transfer fluid presents attractive features for future power technologies, such as next-generation nuclear reactors, thermal solar power, and thermal storage. Liquid lead has excellent heat transfer properties well suited for operating at high temperatures. LÄS MER
13. Heavy metal removal by floating treatment wetlands: Plant selection
Sammanfattning : Elevated levels of heavy metals and chloride are commonly found in stormwater, as a consequence of pollution from traffic, building material and industries, and the use of salt for deicing in wintertime. Floating treatment wetlands (FTWs), consisting of vegetated rafts that can be placed in stormwater ponds, may be able to reduce heavy metal and chloride concentrations, but until this date have mainly been used for nutrient removal in warm climates. 14. On the Extraction of Essential Oils by Supercritical Carbon Dioxide and its Influence on the Mesomorphic Phase Structures
Sammanfattning : A comparison of essential oils from leaves of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn. obtained by hydrodistillation (HD) and supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction is presented. Selected major components of the oils showed a predominance of higher molecular weight components in the SC-CO2 extracts than in those obtained by HD. LÄS MER
15. Adding Fuel to the Fire : North-South dynamics in the geographies of transport energy: the case of EU biofuels
Sammanfattning : Since the 2000s, the European Union (EU) has promoted biofuels for transport to achieve climate change mitigation, and rural development in the global South. In contrast, critiques have argued that biofuel promotion impedes more meaningful mitigation while also resulting in dispossession of land and loss of labour opportunities in the global South. LÄS MER
