16. Investigations on the Serviceability Limit State of Dowel-Type Timber Connections
Sammanfattning : Dowel-type steel-to-timber connections are commonly used to transfer a large range of loads. Although they are simple to produce and assemble, the load-carrying behavior and the local stress and strain distribution within the connection area are highly complex. LÄS MER
17. Patch loading resistance of plated girders : ultimate and serviceability limit state
Sammanfattning : Patch loading or partial edge loading of steel girder webs is a load case where a concentrated force is introduced perpendicular to the flange of a girder. This usually induces a local failure of the girder web in the vicinity of the loaded flange. LÄS MER
18. An Approach to Diagnosability Analysis for Interacting Finite State Systems
Sammanfattning : Fault isolation is the process of reasoning required to find the cause of a system failure. In a model-based approach, the available information is a model of the system and some observations. LÄS MER
19. Design, testing and analysis of journal bearings for construction equipment
Sammanfattning : Grease-lubricated journal bearings present a common challenge for construction equipment manufacturers in the world. The common design methodology is based on empirical data and has worked very well historically because the market and governments have accepted that bearings in construction equipment need frequent lubrication and exchange of worn parts. 20. Weld Pool Simulations
Sammanfattning : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling.
