16. Sorting and processing of neutrophil granule proteins
Sammanfattning : The neutrophil granulocytes have a critical role in innate immunity in particular through phagocytosis of microorganisms. Their cytoplasmic granule subsets store digestive enzymes and antibiotic proteins that are released during this event. LÄS MER
17. Fungal Redox Enzymes Involved in the Oxidation of Organic Pollutants
Sammanfattning : This work describes the degradation of nonylphenol, toxaphene, phenanthrene, benzo[a]pyrene and dyes using fungi and their redox enzymes. Two fungi, Bjerkandera sp. strain BOL13 and Fusarium sp. strain BOL35 were isolated from different geographic area in Bolivia. LÄS MER
18. Interactions between Malignant Keratinocytes and Fibroblasts : Studies in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Sammanfattning : Carcinoma growth requires a supportive tumor stroma. The concept of reciprocal interactions between tumor and stromal cells has become widely acknowledged and the connective tissue activation seen in the malignant process has been likened to that of a healing wound. LÄS MER
19. The role of stroma-derived substances in breast cancer progression and their function as tumour markers
Sammanfattning : Background: In 2020, more than 2,260,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer. Most patients are cured with surgery and adjuvant treatment, but despite that, approximately 700,000 women die of the disease every year. The historical focus on breast cancer progression has been on the malignant epithelial cell. LÄS MER
20. Retroviral and related nucleic acid processing enzymes expression and detection : Applications on clinical studies of HIV and HERVs
Sammanfattning : Reverse transcriptase (RT), the expression and detection of the enzyme marking the family Retroviridae, has been studied. A new RT activity assay adapted to 96-well microtitre plates is described. It uses a non- radioactive bromodeoxyuridine triphosphate (BrdUTP) substrate in a solid phase format. The assay was highly sensitive. LÄS MER
