6. Sharp Bounds for Calderón-Zygmund Operators in a Vector-Valued Setting
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we extend several classical results about Calderón-Zygmund operators to spaces of vector-valued functions. We first obtain bounds for the norm of dyadic Haar shift operators using a Bellman function technique, and then apply the representation theorem to obtain corresponding results for general Calderón-Zygmund operators. 7. Module categories, internal bimodules and Tambara modules
Sammanfattning : We use the theory of Tambara modules to extend and generalize the reconstruction theorem for module categories over a rigid monoidal category to the non-rigid case. We show a biequivalence between the 2-category of cyclic module categories over a monoidal category C and the bicategory of algebra and bimodule objects in the category of Tambara modules on C . 8. Towards Secure Multipath TCP Communication
Sammanfattning : The evolution in networking coupled with an increasing demand to improve user experience has led to different proposals to extend the standard TCP. Multipath TCP (MPTCP) is one such extension that has the potential to overcome few inherent limitations in the standard TCP. LÄS MER
9. Functional Hodrick-Prescott Filter
Sammanfattning : The study of functional data analysis is motivated by their applications in various fields of statistical estimation and statistical inverse problems. In this thesis we propose a functional Hodrick-Prescott filter. This filter is applied to functional data which take values in an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space. LÄS MER
10. To work or not to work in an extended working life? Factors in working and retirement decisions
Sammanfattning : In most of the industrialised world, the proportion of older and retired people in the population is continuously increasing. This will have budgetary implications for maintaining the welfare state, because the active working section of the population must fund the non-active and old population. LÄS MER
