  1. 1. In conversation with simulation: The application of numerical simulation to the design of structural nodal connections

    Författare :Jens Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; 3D Printing; Design theory; Structural design; Structural efficiency; Simulation; Peridynamics; Force flux density; Nodal connections; Conceptual design; Steel structures; Design process; Digital design;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis explores methods for integration of structural analysis, design and production in a digital design environment. The somewhat ambiguous title implies the ambition to make such integration in relation to the explorative phase of the design process which is described by Donald Schön as having a conversational character. 2. 2. Shape and Being Shaped : Sketching with Haptics in Soma Design

    Författare :Charles Windlin; Kristina Höök; Jarmo Laaksolahti; Anders Lundström; Bill Buxton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sketching; Soma Design; Constructive Design Research; Haptic Interaction Design; first-person; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : Sketching is an integral part of the design process, and it often occurs in the early ideation phase where the focus is on expressing ideas, thoughts, and emotions, allowing them to take shape and making it possible to share them with others to propel the design process forwards. In principle, sketching is a process of externalising thoughts into visualisations, and it influences the creator and collaborators by enabling them to realise and reflect on the possibility and viability of their ideas and develop them further by adding to or subtracting from the sketches. 3. 3. Innovation in a Changing World : Exploring PSS Design through Prototyping

    Författare :Ryan Ruvald; Alessandro Bertoni; Andreas Larsson; Christian Johansson Askling; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Product-Service System Design; Design Thinking; Prototypes; Boundary Objects; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Customers across all sectors have increasing expectations (e.g. value, efficiency, availability, quality, etc.) and expanding needs which traditional business models fail to address simultaneously and stand-alone products cannot be expected to solve. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Multiobjective Optimization for Safety and Reliability Trade-off : Applications on Early Phases of Aircraft Systems Design

    Författare :Cristina Johansson; Johan Ölvander; Micael Derelöv; John Andrew; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES;

    Sammanfattning : A strategic issue for any industrial company is to conceive safe and reliable systems while performing all systems’ intended functions at a minimum cost. System safety and reliability are fundamental to system design and involve a quantitative assessment prior to system development. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Eliciting User Experience Information in Early Design Phases. The CARE Approach to In-Vehicle UX

    Författare :Ingrid M Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; user experience; evaluation; in-vehicle; autonomous vehicles; UX; design methods;

    Sammanfattning : Experience-rich input in early phases of a design process can offer valuable information and inspiration to designers. However, there are methodological challenges linked with efforts to understand future user experiences. LÄS MER
