    Sammanfattning :   This dissertation is a phenomenological analysis of the works of the nineteenth century Danish author Herman Bang. It begins with a close reading of the short story “Chopin” and is therefore phenomenological at the outset as it embodies the Husserlian motto to go to the things themselves (”Sachen selbst”)—in this case, to the literature itself, before any theory or method is discussed. This study construes her works as participating in an emancipatory dialogue.
