  1. 1. Improvement of the AMS-technique and applications to 3H and 59Ni Measurements

    Författare :Madis Kiisk; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; accelerator mass spectrometry AMS ; development of AMS technique; 59Ni; tritium; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Kiisk;

    Sammanfattning : Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is a highly sensitive technique for counting atoms. Its main advantage in comparison with radiometric methods is the smaller amount of sample required (by a factor of a thousand). The method has a high efficiency and requires only some ten mg of sample material. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development of the Lund AMS Facility for the Detection of 59Ni – with Applications in the Nuclear Industry

    Författare :Per Persson; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AMS; Accelerator mass spectrometry; 59Ni; nuclear waste; chemical cobalt reduction; gas stripper; Nuclear engineering and technology; Kärnteknik; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Persson;

    Sammanfattning : Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is a highly sensitive method for counting atoms and it is used for detecting very low concentrations of both radionuclides and stable isotopes in small samples. The two major advantages of the AMS method are that the required amount of sample material is very small, but also that the efficiency is rather high, it takes less than an hour to analyse a sample. 3. 3. Development of the Lund AMS facility for the detection of Al-26 -- with applications in plant ecology

    Författare :Mikko Faarinen; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ion source; injector; plant material; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; aluminium; Accelerator mass spectrometry; AMS; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Faarinen;

    Sammanfattning : Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is a highly sensitive technique to count atoms. The method has a high efficiency, which makes it possible to measure small samples in a relatively short time, usually less than an hour. During the work for this thesis, methods have been developed to detect Al-26 at the Lund AMS facility. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantification Methods for Clinical Studies in Nuclear Medicine - Applications in AMS, PET/CT and SPECT/CT

    Författare :Marie Sydoff; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Nuclear Medicine; AMS; PET CT; SPECT CT; dosimetry; internal dosimetry; quantification; activity quantification; volume delineation; radiation; biokinetics; pharmacokinetics; biodistribution;

    Sammanfattning : An essential part of the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic nuclear medicine is the determination of its biokinetic properties. The uptake and turn-over of the radiopharmaceutical in the source organs is of great interest since this could determine whether the radiopharmaceutical would be suitable for clinical use or not. 5. 5. Accelerator mass spectrometry of 129I and its applications in natural water systems

    Författare :Nadia Buraglio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Ion Physics; jonfysik;

    Sammanfattning : During recent decades, huge amount of radioactive waste has been dumped into the earth's surface environments. 129I (T1/2 = 15.6 My) is one of the radioactive products that has been produced through a variety of processes, including atomic weapon testing, reprocessing of nuclear fuel and nuclear accidents.
