  1. 21. Adaptive immune response in the intestinal mucosa of microscopic colitis patients

    Författare :Ashok Kumar Kumawat; Elisabeth Hultgren-Hörnquist; Johan Bohr; Curt Tysk; Allan Sirsjö; Samuel Lundin; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Microscopic colitis; collagenous colitis; lymphocytic colitis; intraepithelial lymphocytes; lamina propria lymphocytes; T cell receptor excision circle; T helper cells; cytotoxic T lymphocyte and mucosal cytokines; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Sammanfattning : Microscopic colitis (MC) is a chronic diarrhoeal disease of unknown aetiology, comprising collagenous colitis (CC) and lymphocytic colitis (LC). The nature of the adaptive local immune responses in the mucosa of MC patients is however far from elucidated. LÄS MER

  2. 22. T-cell mediated control of Epstein-Barr virus infection : viral mechanisms of immune escape

    Författare :Jelena Vladmirovna Levitskaya; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Epstein-Barr virus; Cytotoxic T lymphocyte; CTL epitope; viral immunescape;

    Sammanfattning : Mechanisms regulating the immunogenicity of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-encoded CTL peptide epitopes and their contribution to the escape of virus infected cells from CTL-mediated immunosurveillance were the subject of these studies. It was demonstrated that two HLA A11-restricted CTL epitopes of EBV nuclear antigen (EBNA)-4 (designated IVT and AVF) possessed different immunogenicity that appeared to be due to a rapid surface turnover of All molecules containing the AVF peptide. 3. 23. Characterisation of the interaction between the Hepatitis B virus core antigen and B cells

    Författare :Una Lazdina; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :HBcAg; B cells; B cell antigen receptor; co-stimulatory molecules; cytokines; T helper cells; cytotoxic T cells;

    Sammanfattning : The Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major cause of severe human liver disease globally. There are around 350 million persistent HBV carriers with a risk of development of liver disease including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. LÄS MER

  4. 24. CTLA-4 expression, regulation and associations in autoimmune myasthenia gravis

    Författare :XiongBiao Wang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 CTLA-4 ; Myasthenia gravis MG ; Immune inhibitory receptor; Autoimmune disease; Genetic polymorphism.;

    Sammanfattning : Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease with muscle weakness due to an autoimmune attack against the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) on the skeletal muscle endplate. Cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) plays a global inhibitory role in the immune system and has a crucial role in autoimmunity. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Lymphoid development and function in MHC class I deficient mice

    Författare :Sofia Freland; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MHC class I; T cell selection; cytotoxic T lymphocyte; antigen presentation; MHC class I deficient mice; NK cell; tumor growth;

    Sammanfattning : MHC class I molecules present short peptide fragments, derived from proteins synthesized in the cytosol, to specific CTL. The MHC class I molecule is a heterotrimer encompassed of a polymorphic transmembrane glycoprotein (heavy chain), ß2-microglobulin (ß2m), and a peptide. LÄS MER
