  1. 16. Radiation-induced dysphagia in head and neck cancer - risk structures and methodological aspects

    Författare :Johanna Hedström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; head and neck cancer; radiation therapy; dysphagia; patient-reported outcomes; quality of care;

    Sammanfattning : Background/Aims: Swallowing difficulties are common after radiation therapy (RT) in head and neck cancer (HNC). The overall aim of this thesis was to address radiation-induced late dysphagia with regard to investigating anatomical risk structures related to the development of radiation-induced dysphagia, as well as methodological aspects in the evaluation of swallowing. 2. 17. PET in the evaluation of head and neck cancer treatment - management of the neck

    Författare :Johanna Sjövall; Lund näs- och halssjukdomar Öron-; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Head and neck cancer; positron emission tomography; radiotherapy; treatment evaluation;

    Sammanfattning : The treatment for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is surgery or (chemo)radiotherapy +/- surgery. Side effects related to therapy are long lasting and adversely affects quality of life. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Molecular Characterisation and Prognostic Biomarker Discovery in Human Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

    Författare :Karolina Edlund; Patrick Micke; Martin Schuler; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) constitutes a clinically, histologically, and genetically heterogeneous disease entity that represents a major cause of cancer-related death. Early-stage patients, who undergo surgery with curative intent, experience high recurrence rates and the effect of adjuvant treatment is modest. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Imaging and Treatment Outcome of Potentially Curable Prostate Cancer

    Författare :Sam Ladjevardi; Gabriel Sandblom; Christer Dahlstrand; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The over-all aim of the present study was to compare the results of treatment with curative intent, with conservative treatment in men with prostate cancer (PCa) without distant metastases.In a population-based cohort in Sweden, the predictive value of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) was evaluated and the relative survival of men considered plausible candidates for treatment with curative intent was investigated. 5. 20. In search of early biomarkers in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma using multi-omics and bioinformatics

    Författare :Emmy Borgmästars; Malin Sund; Ola Billing; Pär Jonsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Oskar Franklin; Stefan Enroth; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pancreatic cancer; microRNA functional analysis; TPS; miRNomics; metabolomics; proteomics; plasma samples; early detection; risk; survival;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a very aggressive malignancy with a 5-year survival of 10 %. Surgery is the only curative treatment. Unfortunately, few patients are eligible for surgery due to late detection. Thus, we need ways to detect the disease at an earlier stage and for that good screening biomarkers could be used. LÄS MER
