  1. 1. Omic Network Modules in Complex diseases

    Författare :Tejaswi Venkata Satya Badam; Mika Gustafsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Maja Jagodic; Sergio Baranzini; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Biological systems encompass various molecular entities such as genes, proteins, and other biological molecules, including interactions among those components. Understanding a given phenotype, the functioning of a cell or tissue, aetiology of disease, or cellular organization, requires accurate measurements of the abundance profiles of these molecular entities in the form of biomedical data. 2. 2. In search of early biomarkers in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma using multi-omics and bioinformatics

    Författare :Emmy Borgmästars; Malin Sund; Ola Billing; Pär Jonsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Oskar Franklin; Stefan Enroth; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pancreatic cancer; microRNA functional analysis; TPS; miRNomics; metabolomics; proteomics; plasma samples; early detection; risk; survival;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a very aggressive malignancy with a 5-year survival of 10 %. Surgery is the only curative treatment. Unfortunately, few patients are eligible for surgery due to late detection. Thus, we need ways to detect the disease at an earlier stage and for that good screening biomarkers could be used. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Network-based biomarker discovery for multiple sclerosis

    Författare :Julia Åkesson; Mika Gustafsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Lukas Käll; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Complex autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis (MS), develop as a result of perturbations in the regulatory system controlling the function of immune cells. The disease course of MS is heterogeneous but is characterised by chronic inflammation in the central nervous system causing neurodegeneration resulting in gradual disability worsening. LÄS MER
