    Sammanfattning : The history of surgery is nearly as old as the human race. Control of wound infection has always been an essential part of any surgical procedure, and is still an important challenge in hospital operating rooms today. For patients undergoing surgery there is always a risk that they will develop some kind of postoperative complication. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Technical cost modelling and efficient design of lightweight composites in structural applications

    Författare :Mathilda Karlsson Hagnell; Malin Åkermo; Dan Zenkert; Gerhard Ziegmann; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Technical cost modelling; composite materials; carbon fibre; lightweight design; optimization; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A lightweight transport design reduces fuel costs and emissions and can be achieved through the use of fibre-reinforced composite materials. Although lightweight, the composite raw material can be expensive and the sequential component production challenging and costly. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Requirements Management in Theory and Practice – From Requirements Formulation to Product Concept

    Författare :Lars Almefelt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; teamwork; Automotive industry; requirements management; concept development; design methodology;

    Sammanfattning : Product development in the automotive industry is typically characterised by cross-functional teamwork. At the same time, the organisation and development culture are in many ways component-oriented, and, indeed, highly advanced from the point of view of component development. As a result, most components themselves are relatively mature. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Cost Optimization of Aircraft Structures

    Författare :Markus Kaufmann; Dan Zenkert; Malin Åkermo; Per Wennhage; Erik Lund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aircraft structures; optimization; cost estimation; manufacturing cost; direct operating cost; multiobjective optimization; multidisciplinary optimization; composites; airframe design; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Composite structures can lower the weight of an airliner significantly. Due to the higher process complexity and the high material cost, however, the low weight often comes with a significant increase in production cost. The application of cost-effective design strategies is one mean to meet this challenge. LÄS MER

    Författare :Axel Klaesson; Ola Söderberg; Mats Nilsson; Cristina Al-Khalili Szigyarto; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; In situ proximity ligation assay PLA ; rolling circle amplification RCA ; Hybridization chain reaction HCR ; proxHCR; Oligonucleotide design; Protein-protein interactions; Post-translational modifications.; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science; Molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : In situ proximity ligation assay (PLA) is a method for detection of protein interactions, post-translational modifications (PTMs) and individual proteins that allows information about their localization in a cell or tissue to be extracted. The method is based on oligonucleotide-conjugated antibodies (proximity probes) that upon binding of two epitopes in close proximity give rise to an amplifiable DNA circle. LÄS MER
