  1. 11. Glutamate for metabolic intervention in coronary surgery : with special reference to the GLUTAMICS-trial

    Författare :Mårten Vidlund; Rolf Svedjeholm; Torbjörn Ivert; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial ischemia; coronary artery bypass; cardiac surgery; acute coronary syndrome; glutamate; metabolic intervention; postoperative heart failure; myocardial recovery; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Myocardial ischemia is a major cause of postoperative heart failure and adverse outcome in coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Conventional treatment of postoperative heart failure with inotropic drugs may aggravate underlying ischemic injury. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Transesophageal Echocardiography in Patients Undergoing Elective Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

    Författare :Ingrid Palmgren; Russell Anderson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anaesthesiology and intensive care; transesophageal echocardiography; low-dose dobutamine; viability; coronary artery bypass; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthetics and intensive care; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology;

    Sammanfattning : Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) has become a useful tool in monitoring the heart in patients during open-heart surgery. This study was undertaken to evaluate whether it is feasible to use TEE to assess left ventricular myocardial viability in anesthetized patients scheduled for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). 3. 13. Effects of Deep Breathing Exercises after Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

    Författare :Elisabeth Westerdahl; Arne Tenling; Göran Hedenstierna; Birgitta Lindmark; Anders Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Deep breathing exercises are widely used in the postoperative care to prevent or reduce pulmonary complications, but no scientific evidence for the efficacy has been found after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. The aim of the thesis was to describe postoperative pulmonary function and to evaluate the efficacy of deep breathing exercises performed with or without a blow bottle device for positive expiratory pressure (PEP) 10 cmH2O or an inspiratory resistance-positive expiratory pressure (IR-PEP) mask with an inspiratory pressure of -5 cmH2O and an expiratory pressure of +10 to +15 cmH2O. 5. 15. No-Touch Saphenous Veins in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting : Long-term Angiographic, Surgical, and Clinical Aspects

    Författare :Ninos Samano; Domingos Souza; Håkan Geijer; Torbjörn Ivert; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Computed tomography angiography; coronary artery bypass grafting; left internal thoracic artery; no-touch harvesting technique; patency; saphenous vein; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Ischemic heart disease is currently the leading cause of death globally. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is considered the best treatment for many patients and its success depends on the long-term patency of the conduits. LÄS MER
